Which All Star Do You Recommend?

I like the Movies and the Sports the best. The Music was fine we didn't have any problems with our stay, but there was just something that didn't feel very "Disney". The Movies and Sports have more character statues. I also like the layout of those resorts better. When the three All Stars share buses it is more advantageous to be at the Sports as it is the first pick up to the park and first drop off from the park. But I didn't have any problem with the buses (like getting a seat) at the movies either and that is the last pick up/drop off when buses share.

The first value I every stayed at was the Pop and I avoided the All Stars like the plague. But I was on a tighter budget one year and decided to give it a go. The Movies was the cheapest option, so I gave it a whirl expecting to hate it. I really enjoyed it, I was in the Dalmatians section and I just loved walking out my door to the big Pongo and Perdita statues. I still like the Pop, but honestly, I'll go for whatever is the cheapest now since I'm going to be in the parks most of the time and I know I'll have a good time wherever I stay.

So I guess I would say, you can't really go wrong with any of the three. Maybe just pick the one that looks the best in theme to you.

We've only stayed at Sports in the surf's up section. It was nice theming & like you were staying along a boardwalk somewhere. We were close to the pool & food court. The bus stop is the first one if they stop at all three resorts. My youngest wants to stay at Movies but, no one likes that it's the last stop of the three. So, we booked the next trip at POP, Again!!!

we've stayed at the movies a few times & have no issues with it at all. the theming does have a nice Disney feel & look to it.
I've never stayed at sports or music, but haven't heard anything bad about them. it's just a matter of preference.

I like Music. The pools, at least the two up the center, have statues for The 3 Caballeros and The Little Mermaid. Plus, the rest areas on the premises are themed to the buildings they're near. For instance, in between the two Jazz buildings, there's a fountain with a wrought-iron fence that's evocative of New Orleans, whereas the Country building has wooden picnic tables inside a wood chipped area.

I've stayed at all the value resorts as well as all the moderates and all but a couple of the deluxe/dvc. Honestly unless you have someone in your group who is over the moon with say Ariel or is huge into sports or lives and breathes music/band or this is the one and only time you'll ever do this kind of trip then my advice is to pick whichever you get the best deal on. Kids won't say their disney trip was ruined because you stayed at one resort over another. They've all be fine for us. We've had a few negative experiences based on staff, noisy/rude neighbors, or a room that was getting close to time to need a refurb but we've had those things come up from time to time at all the different resort levels. If you've already stayed at pop or the little mermaid section of AoA and were fine with those then you should be just as happy with any of the allstars imo.

All Star Sports, preferred section! I've stayed at all tiers of resort, and this is our favorite value. It is the first resort to be picked up and the first resort to be dropped off on the buses, the preferred section is right next to the pool and the lobby, and the surfing theme makes me feel like I'm on vacation in a warm place. Good luck and enjoy your trip!!!

I do agree with grim-grinning_toast when we've stayed in the preferred section at allstar sports it was super close to the main pool, the food court, and the bus stop (which is out front of the food court lobby area). Depending on how you look surfing the theme kinda feels more like a beach theme than a sports theme.

They're all fine but my pick is music because you're right in the middle of the three, in easy walking distance from either movies or sports. So when you're waiting in that looong line at park closing time, you have three options and can grab whatever bus comes first.

I completely agree, All-Star Sports Surf's Up is my favorite place to stay on property. Although I'm a little confused, aren't you on vacation in a warm place no matter which Disney hotel you stay at?

Hahaha, yes! I meant that it doesn't really feel like a "sports" theme, it feels more relaxed to me.

I guess I didn't mention-we would love to stay at AoA again, but the reason that we are looking at the All Stars is that the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA are never included in any promotions that Disney runs, and we would like to make our vacation as inexpensive as possible We will be going in early November next year-does Disney have a history of running any promotions involving value resorts that time of year? If the chances of an applicable promotion is low, we will probably book at AoA.

Depending on when, exactly, odds are you'll see either Free Dining Plan or the % off (which for values I think is 10%).

I've talked many, many times about my issues with AoA, the biggest being that you're paying moderate-deluxe pricing (at really busy times) for a Value resort. And, the Little Mermaid rooms are very, very far from the lobby. It's a fun resort with the oversized statues and the Carsland section makes for some great photos, but I personally don't think it's worth the price or the walk for the Little Mermaid rooms.,

I mentioned on another post, I don't know if it was part of a promotion, but when I went to pick up my documents from my local AAA travel, I got a $100 gift card. we're staying at the ASM next month.
