I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the Wall-E animatronic that is supposed to be visitng both Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios? I saw the movie last night and it was amazing and I would love to meet Wall-E in person!

After seeing the movie earlier today (for the second time!) I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully we'll see him soon and for much longer than a few months.

I had one cast member tell me it would be towards the end of July and another told me it would be a couple months so who knows. Here's pictures of the area in Animation Gallery where he will be.

It is my understanding that Wall-e is currently touring America to help promote his film as well as perfect his programing. I wouldn't expect him to show up in the parks until Oct. to help promote the DVD release.

I heard it is likely he won't be coming at all from a good source. He will just become another Lucky, Bunsen/Beaker, etc. I think the reasoning was guest control and how you would manage a huge crowd for a picture with Wall-E plus how close you could possibly get to him without some dumb@ss doing some damage.

I remember it took months for the Cars characters to sort of get a good crowd control thing going on. If you remember, they would come out and people would literally crowd them like crazy. Everyone's picture always came out with like 18 kids in the background on top of Mater or something. I seem to also recall Mater and Lightning getting some scratches and dents here and there. Imagine Wall-E, who is much more technical and advanced. Sorry guys..:shrug:

If that is the case and they don't have him out then I bet they will go ahead and have the Bolt characters there if indeed they bring them out for meet n greets. But that wouldn't be till fall. The new character location has been vacant for quite awhile and I can't see them just letting that spot go unused for a long period of time.

couldn't they just control the crowds just like they do for every other character? Have a specified location with a queue set up. then just let small groups at a time in to interact for a few minutes, get pictures and go on. Why should they keep him in storage? Just build hima semi-permanent meet n' greet location (maybe a BnL showroom or something?) and have people form a line no different than an attraction. I can't believe they didn't think of this before they decided to build him.

BEFORE they built him? They built him with the intentions of promoting the movie just like every move Disney makes has some sort of $$ behind it. They have rare characters out for DVD releases (Mowgli, Colonel Hathi, Thumper) and back they go to storage forever. Wall-E could have simply been a way for Imagineers to flex their creative muscles and use it as a means to promote this film at premieres and other controlled environments. When whats-his-name saw Wall-E at the Miami Museum of Science, if you didn't notice, I do not believe any of his pictures were of him personally with Wall-E or just himself. I was surprised to even think they would have bothered putting him out as a regular M&G in the first place. One dumb kid and there goes Wall-E's arm off or maybe someone would dump trash on him to see if he'll pick it up and compact it. Drew is right, they will probably just put the Bolt characters in there. I doubt we'll see Wall-E anytime soon if at all.

Ummm, the meet and greet location in the animation building is a controlled enviroment! Also, they installed video monitors that show a advertisement for a wall-e droid. It then talks about visting your local BnL dealer for a local demonstration. This to me sounds like a show will be performed to showcase wall-e.

I saw a video of him on Youtube interacting with people, but I don't know where they were. It was pretty cool, though. I loved the movie, so it would be pretty awesome to see him "live."

They should just model all of the trash cans in Pixar Place after Wall-E. Not have them move, but just look like him.
