Where's the Walmart??

I know I have read that there is a Walmart fairly close by, but I don't know where. Does anyone know if it a Super Walmart like there are everywhere that has groceries as well? There is a lot of discussion about groceries, but nothing is ever said about Walmart in those discussions. We will be at POP. So really any grocery near by for milk and lunch meat and such. We will have a car.
Thanks

I believe the closest one to Pop will be the Super Center on Vineland Rd. Here is the exact address so you can look it up on google maps

Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #5420
3250 Vineland Road
Kissimmee, FL 34746

When we stay off site, we always go to the one on 192E I think.....(don't quote me on E or W! That always confuses me!) Do you have a GPS? What we did was typed in Wal-Mart in our GPS and it gave us few choices on what was in the area and how far away they were. The one we went to is a Super Wal-Mart so we could get everything we needed in one place. If all you want is groceries, you could go to the Publix. You will have to pass them on your way to Wal-Mart. They have one either direction you travel on 192.

I hope I haven't confused you more than helped!

We went to this one last year when we stayed off site at a house and were pleasently surprised to find out the cost of food was comparable to what we pay at home. I had brought down most of our snacks and breakfeast items from home thinking it would be alot more near Disney but was happy to see that it wasn't the case. Now I know for our trip this summer that I don't need to stock up before we drive down.

We was staying on 192 just west of the main gate and went to both walmarts to the east towards kissimmee. we found that the one a little further down 192 just past medievil times was better than the one on vineland road.

There is also a SuperTarget and a Publix within similar distance of the Super Wal-Mart .. if you drive off of property near The Crossings (the Downtown Disney area) you'll find 'em quick.

We all have our little traditions that we do on our WDW trips, and one of ours is that every trip, we shop at the Walmart right by Medeival Times. I also work at a Walmart here in Illinois, and I was thinking that I heard that this Walmart is either the highest volume store, or one of the highest volume stores either in Florida or in the USA. I'll have to double check that one, though, but it wouldn't surprise me, since we've seen lines out the wazoo no matter what time of day we go in. We've been in there at 9 PM before, and saw huge lines on every register! We especially like to check out their Florida souvenier section. We noticed that they built a new Walmart just up the road from in, on 535, I believe. I don't know if that's the road you guys are calling Vineland Road, or not, though.

Oh, and for anyone who cares, our other tradition is that we always play Mini-Golf at the Pirates Island mini-golf course, just a few buildings down from that Walmart. :D

That's a darn good mini-golf course ... throw in dinner at the CiCi's nextstore and you have yourself the makings of a great night

If you're looking for more of a supermarket close to property, try Gooding's Supermarket at The Crossroads, just north of Downtown Disney, across the intersection where Hotel Plaza Blvd. meets 535. It's great if you just need normal groceries and they also carry your typical sundries. Yes, prices are a little higher than Wal-Mart, but the convenience is worth it. There are also a variety of restaurants and a Pirate's Cove Mini Golf Course. Whenever I stay on property (and I live about 10 miles away), I usually go to Gooding's if I need to replenish my food and drink supply. Hope this info helps! :)

We've never eaten at CiCi's but ya, we love Pirates Island. If you look at my signature and see my previous visits, my 2000 trip was with some buddies and that's the first time I've visited as an adult, and the four of us played mini-golf there. That set the tradition for me, so when I met my wife, she knew that when we got married, I would take her to Florida for the honeymoon. So, when we went in 2003 (her first visit), I took her to Pirates Island, and that has been one of our traditions ever since. We have also played at Congo River up the road a few times and enjoyed it, but it's not a "sacred cow" like Pirates Island is. :D

Just remember that Publix close by 11 pm. Guess all those Orlando folks get their shopping early in the day.
