At the Magic Kingdom today. First time in 3 years. What happened to all of the background music? Very little if any.

I was just there two days ago and there was plenty of background music. What areas are you noticing a deficiency in the music?

We experienced the same thing last year, so it's kind of 'hit or miss'. We all commented on the fact there was little or no music to be heard in the parks that week.

I get more annoyed that they cant fix speakers around the resorts. Areas will have music and some don't. It is like someone cut the wire and no one can be bothered to fix it. The Poly and GF are great at this.

Disney is really bad at both playing BGM loud enough to be audible and maintaining the speakers that play it. More areas of the WDW parks are void of BGM than aren't these days.

I do think there's a happy medium though. At Universal the BGM is often too loud and overbearing. If it's too loud it generates stress especially if it's upbeat and hyper to begin with.

Yes! One of the things I love about fort wilderness is the music playing seemingly everywhere when we are riding our golf carts. I literally tear up when I see posts about it. Our last trip in April it was definitely not all over like before. It was confined to the main areas. Before you could hear it when traveling down certain golf cart paths. I was so sad not to have that music. I mean...it didn't ruin my trip but it definitely didn't give me the warm fuzzies like it normally would.

We noticed something similar. Although I just thought it was a quiet part of the soundtrack. I play the background music regularly at the house and there are times when I think it's off but it's more soft instrumental than other parts.
