Every park has a parade, besides Epcot. Why not Epcot? Some people say that it doesn't need a parade, it doesn't fit well. In my opinion every park needs a daytime, or nightime parade. Now I understand that Epcot has Illuminations (Excellent Firework Show). It just needs something in the daytime for the guests in WS. Now I can understand the case, if they can't get enough Cast Members to work it. But is that the reason they got rid of TOD? I'll probablly regret this thread, but I just need to know WHY??? Thanks! What are your opinions? Does Epcot need a parade, or does it not fit?

Didn't it used to have one? I remember being blocked in the back of the park but it was a long time ago. Maybe I'm thinking of the bridge opening for the barge.

Yes they had one for a few years. It was Tapestry of Nations/Dreams. It started during the Millenium Celebration and just ended in the spring this year.

Looking at foot traffic, how/where would you put the parade.

Cuz if i remember correctly, it was a nightmare in the WS when the parade happened.

It worked well actually. They had tape down on the paths to section off where you could sit.

Now, the parades down Mainstreet at MK are horrible for foot traffic and very difficult to get around. The path around the World Showcase is wide enough for people to still get around.

When I went to Disney World for the first time with my High School Marching Band in January 2003, i remember some sort of parade there. Also, when I look back at that park map, a parade route is printed on it.

Every time I worked crowd control for ToN, it was horrible. It was extremely poor with guests trying to just cross where ever. There were plenty of near accidents.

You couldn't get through at Morocco easily. Going through Japan and AA was horrible as well.

Keep it out of there.

I don't think it needs one...Its EPCOT it has a different atmosphere than any other park its the least Disneyified(and by that I mean merchandise) I don't mind The living seas getting finding nemo....but leave it at that

EPCOT is special to me for a reason

The World Showcase has always had space problems with parades and the double-decker buses that used to be additional transportation. In many instances, its tough enough just to walk in/out of crowds that build up in front of the lands.

One solution to this could be to have a water-based parade similar to the one that is on the Seven Seas Lagoon. But water-based parades are ideal at night because of lighting et al. Since Illuminations is the premier water-based attraction at EPCOT i doubt they'd ever do this.

Ok kids, EPCOT had Tapestry of dream for nearly 4 years, many, many people loved it and the space problems are no where near MK. Another parade would be good, but no need to rush it.

That's an interesting idea. I haven't been to DisneySea so I don't know how big the lagoon in the center of the park is, but I've seen pics of a water parade/pageant that they have (had) there, so the idea of a water parade wouldn't be completely new to Disney. It could be a water pageant/parade with Disney characters (Disney seems to love putting the characters everywhere, afterall, it has been one of the biggest requests from guests....more characters) with floats that represent each country. Of course, they would have to do the parade before the Illuminations crew needs the lagoon for set up. But that is a very neat idea lebernadin.

I think it would great if they had a "Around The World" Parade to see different cultures (from countries that they don't have there). Like to see Russian Dancers, or Belly Dancers, Street Performers, Chinese acrobats, etc. I think that would be sweet.:D

Plus, like Illiminations, it doens't have to have a hard-core Disney theme. It could just be pretty much like a Around the World parade, without the Disney.

Tapestry of Nations was cool... Tapestry of Dreams... eh.. sucked. If they do a parade, they need to make sure that A- it is not a "kiddy parade" and B- it fit with the theme of the park... discovery. I have seen the imaginations parade in Paris, which a lot of people seem to think will fit in World Showcase... and no, it does not (but neither does the character bus).

Epcot is the classy park, not the kiddy park. Keep it that way.

Well isnt WDW a family destination, all the parks should fit to a families needs. I can understand what you are saying, not to have it a kiddy park, but they need more kiddy stuff, kids really arent interested in how plants are grown

The TDS one was nice, the lagoon isn't as large as the WS lagoon. I have no idea about the actual sizes of them, but it felt smaller. The body of water that runs along the left side of the park to the back seemed to be even larger.

As much as I love that parade, that's just not how things go. If they kept the same parade year after year after year after year it would be stagnant. Besides the parades are like a celebration, and what good is a celebration if it never changes....

I don't think they want to pay OSHA any more in fines from it...
