ALthough I think the benches in MK have been removed for safety reasons -- they used to be all around the parade routes and all of those have been removed due to sheer crowd safety and management reasons...

Yes I remember all those benches 10-15 years ago....i feel they remover them because "seat saving" became a big problem AND complaint.

A lot of the benches at Epcot that used to pretty much ring World Showcase have been removed to make room for the food booths for Wine and Food Festival, as well as the Garden Festival which now also has food stands...I don't think its a deliberate attempt to make life harder for you -- its a deliberate attempt to make life easier for them so they don't have to keep installing and uninstalling them....
This is what I was thinking, they will probably put them back after the F&WF.

Yup, saw him on an insurance commercial a couple of weeks ago. Can't remember which one though. I was spending the whole time wondering where I had seen him before. Once the commercial ended, I remembered.

Without the benches, he probably won't go back. BTW, was that or was that not the absolute best Vacation Planner that they ever put out. My grandkids watched it over and over and over. Heck, I just watched it again the other day.

Just a side note: I recently went to Las Vegas. There is nowhere to sit in Vegas unless you are in front of a place to gamble. I didn't see any benches on the streets at all.

It still is by far the best one that came out during the 2000's vacation planners..

I have spent 3 -4 mornings a week in the MK for the last two years and have noticed the benches come and go. Sometimes they come back freshly painted and sometimes they pop up in different locations. I have never had trouble finding a place to sit though.

I am sure someone has a full time job running a spreadsheet on bench locations and movements. While a whole crew carries out the moving and maintaining of said beches.

He also did commercials for Dish Network where he had a Couch..It counts as a bench....Just more comfortable..

I think they removed them to make room for the sea of strollers that have taken over Walt Stroller World.
Seriously, between the Pinnochio Hause Village construction wall and stroller parking for Philharmagic it's a nightmare if more than 5 people are walking through there.

Where am I supposed to wait while my wife is shopping? Hey honey, I'll be lurking around the bathrooms with my friends from WDWMagic while you shop. No honey, nothing creepy, just our hangout.

On Main Street in the Magic Kingdom just sit on the curb. In Epcot if you are by Mousegears (the best Disney store!) sit on the walls. The Disney Studios would be another place to grab a piece of the curb. The shops are pretty scattered in the Animal Kingdom so I would look for a wall or a random bench near the store.

We will be visiting Disney World in December and I am very concerned about there not being enough benches to rest on now that the new "handicapped" policy DAS is just for people in wheel chairs. I am a "senior citizen" and broke my ankle a year ago, and it is difficult to stand or walk for hours, but I don't need a wheelchair. So, if there are not enough benches to rest on while my family stands in line, I will have problems with pain and swelling. Their new DAS instructions say return to a Kiosk with your ID to get another reserved time. Well, just the thought of all of that extra walking back and forth pains me! Can't they do something with those new wrist bracelets for Fastpass? Otherwise I will have to buy one of those metal canes with the fold-down chair to sit on.
Is there a map that shows where benches are located?
I'm sorry for your potential pain. I truly am.
They make canes with built in chairs? :O
What a day to be alive! :')
