Where would you like to see the next DVC? I would like one next to the Magic Kingdon with direct access to the park, like Boardwalk and Beach Club have. I do like the idea of Ft. Wildernes but love the idea of being able to walk into the Magic Kingdom is amazing.

I would like to see one built off property. We enjoy the resort on Hilton Head Island. Perhaps they could build one near Gatlinburg. They could have an indoor waterpark, similar to Great Wolf Lodge. In the winter it would be close to skiing/tubing and in the summer it is close to hiking, etc.

BLT is as close as you're going to get without being in CM parking lots.

I love it, it's very close.
It's also as close as you're going to get because there's no existing resort in that area. The DVC-only resorts tend to be huh-yuge so that would be a big footprint for an all-new resort in an area not really built to accommodate a new resort. Plus it might lookmore than a little bit "backstage-y" and thus ruin the "magic" potentially, to anyone who sees it. A fun idea to dream about, though.

I don't know where I'd like one built. I suspect if one were to be built overlooking the Osprey Ridge & Eagle Pines golf courses, and be golf themed with an accent on a more mature clientele without flat-out insisting "adults only," that would do very well amongst older people who like to golf and still have a love of all things Disney but enjoy it more when those damn kids aren't so much in the way.

I also wouldn't be surprised if one section of AoA were "annexed" to become Value DVC suites. Take the least booked section of suites, sell DVC points for them, with the point value for a suite comparable to the point values for most studio units, it'd sell like hot cakes, especially for families who've contemplated buying DVC but their family size puts them at too big for studios but priced out of the accommodations they'd need. Since there are so few amenities, I can't imagine maintenance fees to get too crazy, which would be another plus.

I would like to see them stop building additional DVCs period. With the dense crowding around MK as it is, the last thing needed is even more lodging near the park.

I'm a fan of the EPCOT idea. There's another thread out there, but here are my 3 favorite ideas:
  1. You build a futuristic looking high rise tower (20+ floors) either behind or in place of the Wonders of Life pavilion. The tower would fit the theme of Future World and would have birds eye views of illuminations and the rest of EPCOT and direct access to the park like Grand Californian into DCA. Possible Top of the World type lounge at the top. If built on the sit of WOL they could make the first few floors a new attraction for EPCOT with the hotel above it. This way DVC owners get a nice new option and everyone else at least gets a new attraction.
  2. Same building style as #1 but built between Seas and Land on backstage land and the current bus stop area. Again with direct access to the park and a possible lounge on top. This would be close enough to the current monorail station to build a BLT style connector bridge to get directly to the monorail. Both #1 and #2 would have the pool and common facilities next to the tower and would require a parking garage in one of the EPCOT lots to make up for lost parking.
  3. The least likely option is an old rumor to build DVC rooms amongst either 1 or several World Showcase pavilions. They would keep the theme of the countries they occupied with direct access to the park. They would be limited in height to not ruin the look of WS. There is some backstage space, but there would need to be a lot of things moved around to make this happen. Options 1 and 2 would be cheaper and have larger capacity for more rooms.
Assuming they go with #1 or #2 above remember that this is the concept art for the Cosmopolitan Hotel from the original EPCOT Center model.

I am looking forward to the DVC resort at the Polynesian.. I would also like to see something that is a walk to Animal Kingdom. Last time I was over there someone told me that Disney was planning a Marvel park.. whether it is true or not.. who knows? I could see them adding a value resort right next to the new Marvel park if it is real.. then maybe a new DVC resort across a lake from it. Kinda like Pop Century/Art of Animation layout. That would be cool.

Disney can't build anything Marvel west of the Mississippi River because of Universal. There have been rumors about a Marvel park at Disneyland in California.

Do all the deluxe resorts have DVC (after Poly is done)?

The way I understand the license Universal has the rights to the characters they currently have forever. The problem they have is that Marvel has to approve any changes or new attractions which will never happen. So unless a deal can be worked out both Orlando parks lose out and so do the customers. There are enough Marvel characters for Disney to build a theme park or large section and still not violate the license but I think it's in everyone's best interest to reach a deal on this.

I have no idea what is back there, but wouldn't it be cool to have an ocean themed resort behind UTS? One that looked like a continuation of Eric's castle/sea village. If we are really "dreaming" we could have access into MK via NFL. Lots of water, sea creatures, very relaxing atmosphere.

Or behind BOG - just think the theming would scare the crap out of my kid, which would make the trip a wee bit less relaxing.

No Yacht Club, unless you consider it and Beach Club to be partnered to the point that they're the same resort.
