Where was the boat at fantasmic?

No boat tonight at the end of the show. They just brought out some characters on the stage. Kinda bummed. Is there some kind of refurb going on with the boat? Also they seem to have a new preshow were two CMs talk to the crowd. However, these two CMs were very loud and kind of annoying. They were so annoying that I would probably rather hear the Brazilians chanting instead of them (and I hate when the Brazilians chant). Plus there wasn't even the wave at all. Two of my favorite parts of Fantasmic were gone tonight. Whats the deal?

The boat was there two days ago when i watched the show (Feb 28th). And yeah i noticed this new "preshow" as you call it. I wasn't aware they were added and wasn't sure if it was permanent. But yeah it's horrifying and obnoxious. I enjoy Fantasmic, but that was almost unbearable. I might have left if i thought walking all the way back out just to leave the park were worth it.

Show was nice at least. The choreography seemed a lot better than it was back when i visited in 2011 (even the Pocahontas scene was better acted this time). This is the first time i've seen it in quite a while, and it seemed a little bit better acted.

Something is wrong with the boat because last night they were literally pushing it with a tech boat. It was horrible show. I would have rather they cut the boat entirely and just brought the characters out on the island. Mickey didn't appear/disappear properly at the end either. He just sort of walked on from stage left, said "Some imagination, huh?" and then froze until the lights went dark.

Ugh. And not even a month after a refurb.
They need a much longer refurb for this show.

On the 25th (last saturday) the boat came out, but was pushed by a motorboat (large flat bottom boat with two outboard motors). Makes me wonder....

At least you guys got the boat HA! But seriously, whats the point of Disney going out of it's way to design and build 1 of a kind shows and attractions if they don't plan on keeping them running at 100 percent? I just cant understand what they are thinking sometimes (probably that they can get away with it because a majority of people won't even notice)

I'm sorry you didn' enjoy fantasmic as much as normal.

I've never seen WDW's fantasmic running at anything less than 100% but I have seen DL's sans-Murphy!

I know it's little consolation to you but I'm sure their problems are only temporary. I sure hope Mickey's disappearing/reappearing is fixed soon.... That's one of my lump in the throat moments for me.

Remember when they had an actual pre-show act perform (the old "Four for a Dollar" acapella group) before the show.... Long before management decided live entertainment wasn't necessary anymore...

They also had the Tower bellhops which were entertaining.

Forgot about them!

It's funny, because for some reason nowadays any live entertainment they create seems to "interactive" or "in your face" obnoxious. What the heck is wrong with a talented singing group or band entertaining the crowd? Honestly what would it take to get someone from one the many TV talent shows put on a small pre-show? There's no shortage of talent out there, and a lot of it can come relatively cheaply.

But if you can pay a couple of CMs minimum wage to play the Macarena or get the crowd to do the wave, TDO is all over it!

Why just refurbs? Why not a series of rolling upgrades like at Disneyland?

The bolded part is exactly why.
