where to stay

We are a family of 7 who are just starting to plan a trip for November. Our children are 8,8,6,6,6. We don't want to go broke but we definitely want to stay inside the park. Are there any resorts that have connecting rooms and is it difficult to get them. The Villas at the Wilderness Lodge look great but are a little expensive at 500 per night. We are planning on staying for 6 nights. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say that your best bet will be the All Star resorts. Those are designed for families, all the rooms have two double beds and there are connecting rooms. They are the least expensive ones in WDW.

Do you have triplets and twins? What a blessing! (I´d go nuts!):)

:hammer: Yes, twins and triplets. We probably are nuts for taking such a big trip, that's why I am really looking into everything so that we do it right. None of the hotels specify about connecting rooms except the Carribean. It is very overwhelming. I haven't been there for 10 years.

Try this.

Ok this is pretty easy. Ditto to what Maria said. Are you a Disney Club member (because discounts apply if you are)? For that big a group, you need to buy at least one Annual Pass because you'll save a bunch on your room rate as well as admission. Generally speaking, most folks on this board can help you to get the best rate on lodging and tickets but also go to www.mousesavers.com to check the latest discounts.

wow! 10 years, huh? i think my first trip will reach it's 10th anniversary this summer (first trip was i think June 1992) we've gone at least once every year since. and my goodness how it changed from one trip to the next! it has definately changed since your last visit!! i wish i could be there with you and see the expression on all your little ones' faces! i always love seeing how people react on their first ever visit!
but to answer your question about the hotel. i agree with everyone else, a value or moderate resort would be best for a family of your size. i know for sure that the All-Stars have joining rooms. but, from experience, if you call and there aren't 2 rooms available, don't give up! keep calling and calling and calling, and you'll finally luck up on a 2nd room! personally, i think one of the three All-Stars would be your best bet. i think kids of that age would REALLY enjoy the oversized objects...kinda like living in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playset! :) and also, just in my opinion, i'd say either Movies or Sports....if your family is totally into sports and such, go for sports. but i'm sure the kids are very familiar with the Disney films, so Movies is always a safe bet! (i'm still speaking of All Star resorts, btw...just thought i'd say that...i don't want to confuse you if you didn't realize that) i'm not too sure how many 8 and 6 year olds would appreciate All Star Music...although it is MY fave of the three All Stars.
hope that helps! you've definately come to the right place for trip planning questions! there's always at least 1 person on the forums that can answer any question you have! and feel free to ask our opinion on something...we're definately all really opinionated around here! ;)
take care! and keep us informed on how the trip planning is coming along!! :)

I have the perfect solution for you. Hear me out, get a cabin in Fort Wilderness. They are so Low-Priced, $224 for value and $314 at Christmas time. You get at a queen bed and bunk beds in the bedroom and you get a fold down queen in the living room and you get a kitchen, tv, great bathroom, patio, BBQ grill. I definately recommend the wilderness cabins.

FW is great, so close to the MK, FW has everything you want in a resort.

Have you looked into Old Key West? Also, most people book their reservations at the highest price they can afford (or feel comfortable paying), then keep checking places like mousesavers.com for special codes, deals, etc. If you find a better deal, try to renegotiate your reservation, or make a new one and cancel the old, as long as you're within the time frame.

Here is another idea!

Check out the DVC forums at wdwinfo.com, and rent points from a DVC member (or purchase membership yourself, if you plan on going every year or two). You should be able to get a two bedroom villa at Old Key West for about $350 per night, maybe less. We are DVC members, and have five kids, and we always stay in a two or three bedroom villa, no problem. November, before the 24th, is choice season, and 24 points per night for Sunday through Thursday night, and 56 point per night for Friday and Saturday. Point usually go for about $9 to $11 per point.

Good luck!

Wow, congratulations. What a family. You know when the Six Pac (***tuplets) went to WDW they did a cover story about it in Red Book. I got the magizine just to read the article. I think your family is just as interesting and maybe someone else would be interested in that. Consider contacting Disney puplic relations and see if there is anything they can do for you. They might even have some advice for an interesting trip for a family like yours.

Lots of luck. Your kids will love it. Just relax as much as possible and the trip. You won't be able to please everyone at once or do everything, so plan some. But be flexible, the most fun things are usually the unplanned.

RIGHT ON!!!

I don't think anyone can stop this team it's Destiny, Tom or Drew, we got em' but I think Tom is fine and he'll go on Sunday. I'm going out to get my AFC champ shirt tomorrow. still got my one from 5 years ago when I was in 8th Grade.

I'm from the North Shore, I think I'm the only one from the North Shore on the board.

But anyway, I really think the FW cabins are the most under-rated thing in WDW. I think a lot of people overlook FW because they may think it's just a campground. But it's a hell of a lot more than that, it's a great resort.

Yeah I know, Desmond Howard! Parcells already agreed to leave before the game so that was a factor, I think this team plays like no other team I've seen. Troy Brown will show why he is the most valuable player in the league. (I know he wasn't, but I think he is and he deserves it)
