Where to stay

Have a quick question. Want to meet up with friends at Disney sometime in the spring. It has been sometime since I have been to Disney, so I am wondering what resorts are currently closed or will be in the spring for rehab. I know that some have closed quickly, leaving guests to make other arrangements. Also, does anyone know when the passholder specials will be running next year yet? I plan on getting a new pass. Thanks in advance.

The only Resort that is currently closed, is the new Pop Century Resort. We are all waiting with baited breath for it to open. There are no passholder specials out yet, but I am sure that if you book at the passholder rate and a special comes out , that you will be able to change it.

It absolutely is closed for rehab right now, but I believe the target date for reopening was the week of Christmas. I Am not sure how far along they are though. Any ideas from the people who see the CBR a bit more than I do?? Belle

Thanks for the information. Right now we are going to try for sometime before May. I will have to just watch and see when they release the phs for April-May. I know they almost always something good then. I was shocked to see $109.00 for AKL in early 2003. That is a great rate for a deluxe. That is where I would like to stay next year. Maybe I should just brave the cold weather and go earlier...or maybe twice :animwink: .

go for twice!!! I should talk though I will have gone 4 times in this calendar year!! As far as May that is an awesome time to go however the rates will not be as low even if the discount is comparable. That is just based on Disney's rates at different times of the year. The lowest rack rates are in Jan-mid Feb, the end of August thru the end of Sept. then November thru to just about the end of December. Usually Disney will run similar percents of a discount but because of the base price differences it is slightly more in May..

Wow! These discounts may make it cheaper to buy an annual pass even for a one-week stay! (Assuming one is staying on-site). I'd never thought about that before...

Whenever we go, we always go on an annual pass special. Yes, the pass does cost more than park hopper tickets or length of stay (is that what they call it these days :veryconfu ?) passes. You can save tons of money on the room rate and if you are going more than 5 days, it is well worth the cost. Plus, you can use it again the next visit. I can't imagine not having one...but I tend to let mine expire and then just get a new one next trip, since they changed the policy for renewing. Before you were able to just get another new voucher and turn it in for a pass on your next visit. Now they just renew you for one year from the date it expires. Not such a good deal if you gap your trips. But either way, the pass is the WAY to GO!

well I broke down last year for the first time and bought a regular Annual Pass there is also the Premium for EVERYHING, but I didnt know how often I would use the other stuff. With my up and coming December trip factored in I have gone to Disneyworld 23 days this year alone and will probably squeeze in another 4 or so before I have to renew my pass!!! Forgetting about the discount for a second, Iwould have probably "Spent" over $1000.00 in my park admissions alone had I not bought my AP for about $350 will my Disney Club Discount (only about $10 or so). Now factor in all the savings. In October alone I saved somewhere around $240 for the trip on my room at the PO Riverside, Waterview!!! AP are well worth looking at for those perks alone!!! My cost for a water view room at a Moderate in Oct(Regular Season) was $110 per night including tax and all. Norally it is $169 without tax!!! Jan-Mid Feb will be a tad cheaper as it is Value Season!!! Hope the info helps Belle
