Half Marathon Transport
We have stayed at both moderate and monorail resorts for the half and full marathons. Given my druthers, I would stay at a monorail resort for a couple of reasons.
First, getting to the race via bus transportation is either a breeze or a nightmare - there is no middle ground. Some years the bus zoomed right into the Epcot parking lot, other years it crawled along in bumper to bumper traffic, with the clock ticking down toward the race start time. Massive stress for runners!
Monorail travel, on the other hand, is not affected by traffic and always got us there in plenty of time.
People often overlook the other side of the coin: getting back to your resort after the race. You are either hot and sweaty and tired, or cold and sweaty and tired. In no mood for delays and waiting. We always found that a monorail ride was preferable to sitting and stewing in a stuffy bus.
Just my honest opinion based on four full and two half marathons at Disney.
