Where to stay at the Polynesian

Which building should I request at the Polynesian? I was thinking Tokelau.

Going Sept. 6-15, 2002...Niue down?

Steve et al:

I will be going to the Polynesian (garden view) from Sept. 6 to Sept. 15. I have requested Niue (partially based on Steve's website recommendation). I have several questions...

1. Will Niue be down during that time? If so, what is the best "other" building. Central location with no smoke is the prime consideration. We will be there 8 days, with 3 at the resort. A balcony would be nice.

2. I requested the room in my reservation when I booked it with CRO. Should I follow-up with a fax and/or phone call directly to the resort? If so, how much in advance? 5 days, sooner? Should I do it more than once (don't want to bug them, though). My other concern is that we're getting in late (ca. 9:00 p.m.)

3. Rarotonga has gotten bad reviews (from some of Steve's visitors). Have any of the longhouses gotten rave reviews within the past few weeks?
