I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread (you're welcome to delete it if it's not) but I feel like there should be some guide for this section of the forums. A lot of it seems to be competitions, which I'd love to join, but it's a little intimidating when the threads are so big. I dunno, just a list of competitions that go on frequently, the basic rules for them, the time commitment, who's allowed, something like that would be nice for newcomers (like myself).

Like Space said, the one sentence competition is the easiest way to get involved. It's how I got started when I joined. Each round is usually about four days. There no pressure or commitment so you don't have to do every round if you don't want to. Each round there will be a prompt (this round is to design a Universal Hotel) and anyone who wants to play can write up their idea in 1-3 sentences. Its nice and simple, but still very fun. I've had times where i was busy or not as invested that I wrote up my idea in 5 minutes. I've had times where I've been really excited and invested where i spent an hour making the sentences just right and drawing a picture and all that good stuff. It's a simple competition that gives you enough freedom to get more invested if you'd like without punishing you for keeping it simple.
If you want something a bit more, the Disney Overhaul Competition just started. You can drop in and drop out whenever you like. So far, it looks pretty similar to the one sentence competition but with more to the write ups. Gives you more freedom to fully explain your idea if you'd like.

Then a lot of people do Dream Parks. Basically it is writing up how you would build a Disney Park from the ground up. As someone who has done one, it can be a lot more work than you expect but it was a lot of fun!

@MANEATINGWREATH both have great dream park projects going that make interesting reads.
@DisneyFan18 does too with Disneyland Dubai, but his is a little different where he is working with anyone who wants to help to develop his basoc ideas into a park.
If you want some regular brainstorming prompts without any pressure of competition, Around the Resorts in 30 Days is a great thread. The goal was to do a new brainstorming idea every day for 30 days. We've kinda let it slide abit here and there lol. But it has been a lot of fun!

Also, you can feel free to start a thread! Whether it is something you want to brainstorm with everyone or an idea you have and want to share! It can be super in depth or it can be a sentence or two.
Bottom line, we are all here for the same reasons. To have fun and to be creative! It can be a bit intimidating to get used to this site and get a feel for it. Especially when you're new. But it is a blast! Sometimes we get a bit more competitive. Sometimes we just hang out and talk. And a bit of everything I between. I hope you enjoy it here!
