I am planning a 2nd trip to WDW this summer. The first year we went a friend basically gave me a daily itinerary of what to do, that friend is now lost in the internet world (you know those friends you make in forums and then loose track of???)! I don't know where to start :( and want this to be a great experience for my girls!

Lots of people here will be glad to help, myself included.

So, lets start with some basics.

How many adults?

How many kids (and ages)?

How long are you looking to stay?

Of course, everyone wants to do it the cheapest possible with the best payoff, but what would you consider a reasonable budget for the trip?

Are you flying in or driving (or taking a train/bus)?

Do you have anything from your last trip that you enjoyed that you wish to repeat?

Do you have anything from your last trip that you didn't enjoy that you'd like to avoid?

If you already have reservations / tickets / dates, what do those look like (helps figure things out regarding crowds, transport, etc)?

If you already have reservations, do you have the Dining Plan?

I can go on, but lets start with those.

How many adults? That would be me & only me!

How many kids (and ages)? Twin 8 year olds

How long are you looking to stay? 9 days, 8 night

Of course, everyone wants to do it the cheapest possible with the best payoff, but what would you consider a reasonable budget for the trip? I have already booked the trip with hotel, daily character meals, meal plan and park hopper passes. I have paid for that already. Plan to bring money for other incidentals but am not expecting a lot more expense.

Are you flying in or driving (or taking a train/bus)? flying and will travel to hotel via MDE transport

Do you have anything from your last trip that you enjoyed that you wish to repeat? Ummm lets see....EVERYTHING! We loved it all! Except one park didn't have a lot to do and that was the park with the Safari so I'm thinking it was Animal Kingdom but I could've just missed a lot!

Do you have anything from your last trip that you didn't enjoy that you'd like to avoid? Lines, heat and while you help me avoid those in August could you predict the lottery numbers for tomorrow night???

If you already have reservations / tickets / dates, what do those look like (helps figure things out regarding crowds, transport, etc)? I will be staying a Caribbean Beach Resort. I have reservations for meals each day starting on a Thursday in this order...Whispering Canyon Café 6:45pm, 1900 Park Fare 5:45pm, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall 6:30, Mama's Melrose Ristorante Italiano 4:40pm, Chef Mickey's 5:30pm, Rainforest Café at AK 5:30pm, Coral Reef 5:30pm, Ohana 6:30pm

If you already have reservations, do you have the Dining Plan? see above

I can go on, but lets start with those.[/QUOTE] You've got questions, I've got answers!

So, I assume you are on the DDP (1 QS, 1 Snack, 1 TS)?

What time is your flight in on day 1?

What time is your flight out on day 9?

Do you plan to attempt a park during either of these days? Or are you taking them as just travel days?

I plan to use them as travel days but also want to go check out resorts and Downtown Disney (I've been told there are some cool things to see at other resorts). I arrive early and leave late

Since you can't pool hop at Disney (you can at Universal hotels), there isn't much to see at other resorts that don't involve a simple "wow, check out the resort" or dining/show options.

Otherwise, it's rather pointless. Especially for a second trip.

I'd focus, instead on DTD (now called Disney Springs).

So, lets break down those ADRs.

Thurs - Whispering Canyon Café 6:45pm
Fri - 1900 Park Fare 5:45pm
Sat - Akershus Royal Banquet Hall 6:30
Sun - Mama's Melrose Ristorante Italiano 4:40pm
Mon - Chef Mickey's 5:30pm
Tue - Rainforest Café at AK 5:30pm
Wed - Coral Reef 5:30pm
Thurs - Ohana 6:30pm

Right?

I noted you didn't put dates, and that's fine. It's either the 6, 13, 20 or 27th. I don't need to know, but there is a big difference between the 6th and the 27th in terms of the Parks (crowds and hours). So, are you going earlier in the month or later?

(for the record, all of my trips with the kiddo are in August, so I'm very familiar with that month...very familiar)

You eat a lot at resorts and DTD (except Rainforest which could be DTD or AK)...any reasoning for that?

No special reasoning. We ate at a couple of the places last trip and my twins LOVED the experience so much they wanted to do those again. Other than that... I looked at what was offered, my picky eating kids preferences and BAM! my choice was made :)

Mind if I fiddle with them a bit with some suggestions? You can feel free to take or leave the ideas...they are my preferences only.

Fantastic! For a longer stay like that Park Hoppers are the way to go.

Did you get WP&M?
