Where to rest?

Our trip is short in June, so I would prefer not to go back to the room for an afternoon rest, as we usually do. But DH gets cranky w/o his nap!

What suggestions do you have for a nice, cool, shady (or indoor) rest spot? At MK I'd say ride the TTA or train for a while, or rest on Tom Sawyer's Island. But what about Epcot, MGM, and AK? Anywhere that you can just chill awhile and feel refreshed?

On our last trip we rested at the area between Space Mountain and the restrooms to Space Mountain's right. It is nice because the TTA goes right over your head and it is very shaded, not to mention a lot of room to sit or even lay down. It is also a good place to watch people, which we all know is everybody's favorite thing to do!

In EPCOT, I have done almost an entire day by the Off Kilter Stage. Get there about 1/2 hour before the show to get a good spot beneath one of the shade umbrealls. Grab a beer from the cart behind the stage area, or over by the Rose & Crown, or a coffee from the pastery cart around the corner from there and enjoy!!!!!!! Belle

Here are some suggestions:

1. See a show.
2. Get lunch at a counter service restaurant and linger over coffee/beverage
3. Go on a long/slow attraction. Carousel of Progress, Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy.

Those three things could make a nice 2/12-3 hours relaxing. If you need shuteye, the resort is going to be your best bet. No harm in separating (except from children!) if one of you is tired and the other is raring to go.

At Magic Kingdom

I would say Carousel of Progress (or Country Bears).

Also at Magic Kingdom - at the Camera Center on Main Street, if you walk to the back, down the hall, to the right - there is a room with cardboard cut outs to take pictures with (like mickey in steamboat willie) as well as a movie theather that plays old disney cartoons. There is even movie style theather seats to rest in. Its nice, quite, and air condited. I dont think many people know about it. Actually, we didnt know about it until a worker at the Baby Center told us about it, on our last visit to MK.

OMG, the TTA for sure! That is our official "resting place". We always sneak on 20 oz. Cokes and other little snacks (and drink and eat carefully, as to not make a mess) on to the TTA. We sit back, put our feet up, and relax. More than likely, they will let you stay on the ride if you ask nice (and hide the snacks from view). It's cool, relaxing, and Magical, all at the same time!

Most of the "rest" places I can think of are attractions. TTA is definitely one of my favorite as well. Normally we eat 1-2 sit down meals per day and consider them our "breaks".
