Where to go for breakfast

We have reservations for the Star Wars breakfast but after reading reviews it doesn't look like a good fit for my family. So we are trying to find a good breakfast place near Hollywood studio for kids. Any suggestions.

How old r u kids? Hollywood and Vine does the Disney Jr Breakfast with characters. Jake, Handy Manny, Sophia, and Doc Mcstuffins. There is also Cape May Cafe at Yacht/Beach Club resort which is close too. They have goofy, Donald, and Minnie.

While 1900 PF is my fave non-park character breakfast, if I'm planning on going to DHS and want a character breakfast, Cape May seems like the no-brainer choice when it comes to location. i.e. get a 7:30a ADR and then just grab the boat to DHS from BC/YC when you're done. Service was pretty good there when we tried it, so there's a good chance you'd be out and at DHS in time for opening.

Unless your kids have great affinity for the characters at H&V, I'd suggest doing Cape May. H&V is kinda meh, with non character meals being terrible. Alternatively just grab something at your hotel or Starring Rolls in park.

Chef Mickey at the Contemporary then take the Monrail to the ticket center to get a bus to Hollywood

Or just take the bus direct from the Contemporary

If what you want is a character breakfast that's close to DHS, then the breakfast at Cape May Cafe is pretty much it, except for the weekends, when the Garden Grove Cafe at the Swan also has characters at its buffet, at a much lower price than any character breakfast from a WDW-run restaurant. And I'm guessing if you're re-thinking a Star Wars buffet, then it's for a Star Wars weekend, so the Swan might be a good bet, especially if
a: you're not on the dining plan, it's only $24/adult $14/kids, all you can eat.
b: you are on the regular dining plan, which is only 2 meals a day, not a bad price for the third meal
c: even if you're on the deluxe plan; this is a credit you can save and apply towards a Signature meal.

I would stick with the breakfast and then if you don't like it just grab something at Starring Rolls like @dreamfinder said. Starring Rolls is almost always our breakfast option on our HS days, nothing like a nice big pastry or cinnamon roll to start the day. The Star Wars breakfast is going to be more about the experience, not the food.
