Where to eat outside the World

There are hundreds of family-priced restaurants in Orlando... several dozen within 10 miles of WDW.

Most are chains.

You don't have to go far. At State Route 535 and I-4 (Lake Buena Vista Exit) there are at least 3 family steak houses, Chevy's (Fresh Mexican), Olive Garden, Pebbles (California Contemporary), Landry's (Seafood) plus 3 Crab Houses, Orlando Ale House ('family' sports bar with seafood, steaks and more), two pancake houses, two pizza places...

Or head East or West on State Route 192.

I prefer the 535 area because there's less traffic and it's literally on WDW's doorstep. I think I've eaten at every restaurant there (except some up Palm Parkway) over these past 14 years, and would recommend any one of them.

the last time I went to Disney we rented a car and two of my friends who usually rent a car to go off property were with me. I ate at three places off property.the only one I would highly recommend was Jungle Jim's. Good portions, reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. The other two were the crab house (I Am not sure about the name exactly) the restaurant was OK the AC was far too cold so our food got cold quickly and it was only passing fair to start!! The other place was the Cracker Barrel. This also was only OK. The service in all three places was excellent, but it just couldnt compare to what I had previously had on property!! Sorry!!

In the crossroads shopping center there are many places to eat (located right outside hotel plaza boulevard). There is a perkins, fridays, chevys, Pizzeria UNO, McDonalds, Taco Bell, and I think a red lobster. There are also places all up and down that road like the Olive Garden and many others. Whatever type of food you want is available for you to have.

Ponderosa

I'm not a big fan of buffet places, but when I was little they had these places called "Ponderosa"...they had a HUGE selection, and after a long day at the park, it was good that everyone wasn't arguing over a restaraunt!

For those who haven't heard of this place it is almost exactly like sizzler.

McDonalds
Burger King
Wendy's
Golden Corral
Lone Star steakhouse
Taco Bell
Chik Fil-a or whatever the hell it is, never been
Pizzeria Uno
all of the above are all about in the same area, not far at all from the downtown disney/crossroads portion of WDW.

and Perkins is always good for Breakfast.

Roadhouse Steakhouse is my favorite but it's way down by the super wal mart/medievil times portion of 192.

For breakfast visit Sizzlers on International Drive - theres one north and one south of the junction with Sand Lake Road. We always visit prior to going to USF/IOA or SeaWorld.

Cracker Barrel is good (they all know my name at the one closest to me :D ), but as for me personally I don't want to eat the same food on vacation that I can eat all the time at home. Guess that's one of the many reasons I'm so against McD's in the parks!

This isn't a place you would want to eat breakfast (well, you could), lunch or dinner but it's worth stopping at. I love the Krispy Kreme donuts. Some people have had them, some haven't, but we stopped at one when we went to the Wal-Mart Supercenter. It was so delicious, their originals especially warm.

I like Cracker Barrells.

Across from Grosvenor Resort (inside the Marriott or Hilton or whatever its name is) in Downtown Disney we ate at Benihanas of Tokyo. Great food. Prices slightly less than what you'd pay at Disney.

Sorry I cant agree with the Cracker Barrel I had the potato cassarole thing and the baked apples andbiscuits. It was allright but the portions were no where near what I had at Boatwrights in PORiverside!!! Eat there and then talk to me about healthy portions!! Granted it was cheaper at Cracker Barrel but I wasnt thrilled and wouldnt go off property to eat there again! If it was local., maybe otherwise NAH!!!!

We offer many discount coupons for restaurants outside of WDW to our customers staying off property. I agree with all of the others, that there are many to choose from. Good luck in choosing.
