Where should I use my table service credit on our "NO Parks" day? We are staying at POFQ but have decided not to have dinner at Boatrights (I'm going to pay cash for a breakfast one morning and try the banana stuffed thingy).

Thanks

The Yachtsman at the Yacht Club!! Or 1900 Park Fare or Chef's Mickey if you want to do a character dining meal! :slurp:

Some of my family's favorite places to eat are Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, Wispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge, and O'Hana at the Polynesian. They are all yummy- and great for the kids!

I guess it depends on what type of food you like. For a good steak go to the Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yacht Club, seafood go to the Cape may Cafe in the beach Club. For all you care to eat BBQ get the skillet in the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is nice for good food and characters, but my favorite would be Boma at the Animal Kingdom. The food sounds exotic, but if you look they serve everyday food with a twist ...the spices are savory, not hot. The food is delicious. :slurp:

Look thru the menus and see what you can find.

I like the idea of Yachtsman but what about my child on the DDP? Is 2 table service credits worth a kids meal?
Thanks

Our family's resort restaurant favorites (one dining credit choices) are:

1. Ohana at the Polynesian (really fun with kids; there is entertainment and the meal is served family style, all-you-can-eat. If you time it right, you could be there to watch Wishes from the restaurant or beach)

2. Boma at the AKL (one of our all-time favorites. This is a buffet meal with a lot of choices--we are not usually adventersome eaters, but everything was delicious! Spend some time before or after your meal exploring this great resort.)

3. The Grand Floridian Cafe (Again, terrific food plus beautiful atmosphere. You can spend some time exploring this resort, too. There is live music in the main lobby, plus the grounds are magnificent. You could even loop the monorail for an after-dinner joy ride!).

4. Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL (very noisy, but fun for the whole family. Food is pretty good. This restaurant is just off the main lobby, which has a lot of wonderful features to explore while you wait).

Good luck!!

We were at FQ this summer. On our 2 non-park days we ate at Ohana and Cape May for dinners. They are both really good. You could try any resort restaurant just make sure to give yourself ample time to get there. You first need to take bus to a park then transfer to bus/boat/monorail to ge to resort. We were at FQ bus stop 1 hour prior to reservation time.

I have never used the DDP, and my kids are long past the kid's meals (they are 20 & 14), but there were many people there with young children who seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's a Signature Restaurant so there is a dress code (Disney Business Casual), but we really enjoyed the food. My kids are still picky when it comes to foods they like and they ate everything, but the plates. We started with salads, had NY strip steaks, veggies and various desserts. There was more than enough food and they staff was more than attentive.
