Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Yes, I did make broad strokes based on actual experience and attitude that I saw, experienced or assumed. It doesn't matter, it was my experience and that singular experience that stuck with me over the last 12 years far and away above any other memory of the place. I did mention specifics a few posts later, sorry you missed that. I also said in my response to you that I think (or certainly hope) that isn't a prevalent manor that outsiders are treated, because it only takes one time for the memory and the subsequent judgments to linger on. If you have never done that, great, I obviously wasn't taking about you specifically, but, whether or not you were part of that particular situation does not mean it didn't happen or that it doesn't happen to others. Let me add that it didn't alter my opinion of DL itself, just some of the locals, not all. But, you know the old saying... a few bad apples!

I never said I didn't believe you. I said we as Disneyland fans are not mobs who don't welcome others. That's it.

I'm sorry this one incident tainted your opinion of the park. Yes, I say the park because although you say your opinion of DL hasn't altered (not sure what your original opinion is), at the same time, you also said the "mob mentality" memory of the guests was the one that stuck with you the most, and I believe you because you haven't bothered to return. That's no problem, just an observation.

Anyways, you are free to your thoughts and opinions.

The next D23 Expo is this summer, not sure if you were thinking of attending that. @Mike S is coming out for the occasion and for Disneyland as well, right Mike? I'm down for a meet-up at the parks, if anyone else is interested.

I went to the last D23 Expo. I'm still deciding if I want to go back to D23 this year. Definately want to go back to Disneyland though. I'll let you know when I decide what I'm doing.

Not to carry this further but saying that what I had experience was absolutely false kinda was saying that you didn't believe me. At least in your first post. But, let's get over it on both ends. I had a bad experience and I have heard from others on this board and others that they felt the same way there. I have not returned because, frankly, I do not want to go to California again, not because I don't think Disneyland is worth seeing. I went to Vietnam once too, and I have no intention of returning, not because Vietnam is necessarily a bad place, but, I just don't have a desire to go there.

I was sitting on the floor in front of the old black and white TV, eating a fluffer-nutter that my mother made for me when I saw Disneyland for the first time. I felt like I was with the Mouseketeers as they roamed from land to land. I wanted to be there so bad that I could taste it. But, my parents couldn't afford to go there. When I grew up life got in the way, so I never got to any Disney locations until 1983 when I was a 35 year old father of two and that was WDW. I went to Disneyland with nothing but high expectations even though by the time I actually was able to go out west I was 57. The park didn't disappoint me, but, that situation did. It doesn't matter if it is the norm or not. It was something that made it less desirable and never should have happened. I believe you when you say it isn't all that way, but, it is enough so that it does happen and many people more then myself are affected.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I have never had a fluffernutter sandwich in my almost 50 years. Pretty sure I'm going to make it to the finish line fluffernutter-free.

Golly, that looks vile.

Mind you, what do I know? I don't like Nutella or Zebra Domes either. ;)

Btw, what exactly is this thread about? Is it like Seinfeld? A thread about nothing?

Yes, it's essentially a thraed (that's how you have to spell it here) about nothing. We're just a bunch of crazy friends searching for where Bob Saget isn't that talk about anything and everything along the way. If you like to read you can find out how it all started here.
