You know what they say, go far enough South and you are back in Yankee territory again.Antarctica?

Never heard of it until I left Yankee-land and don't eat it so, try again. I know that southerners are hospitable but for them to design a food type just for us, is a bit of a stretch. If that is the case, I suspect that southerners have some sort of hidden desire to be yankees (and who can blame them). Just for the record, we have Fried Chicken up north and a lot of it. What we lack is biscuits and gravy, and that's OK by me.I live in the south...about as south as you can get.
Fried Chicken rules...Country Fried Chicken is for Yankees.
That's like saying that a southern gentleman that opens a door for a lady has a secret desire to be a woman....hogwashNever heard of it until I left Yankee-land and don't eat it so, try again. Texas is it's own region.I don't live in the south, or southwest. I'm in that zone in between.
That's accepted southern manners. Special Food prep especially for a yankee would bring out the desire, on my part, for a food taster to be employed. Nope, no way around it... Country fried anything is southern to the core just like shrimp and grits. That's like saying that a southern gentleman that opens a door for a lady has a secret desire to be a woman....hogwash

Well the furthest you can go South in America is in Florida, which is where we send our elderly. You know what they say, go far enough South and you are back in Yankee territory again.
Or perhaps you could blame it on the red meat revolt, which btw is alive and well to the southern bell, being a substitute for steak. Still southern, we don't have Country fried anything up north unless someone is trying to copy southern cuisine. Own it, it's really not a bad thing to have thought of as southern. I will Grant you that you probably don't cotton to the idea, but, y'all are what y'all are.I'll go along with you on Country Fries Steak...chicken...NOPE no way.
Shrimp and Grits is just a Carolina thing that has made itself around...Not truly a true southern staple...heck it's only been around since the 1980's.
You is what you is...that's much more southern that y'all.Or perhaps you could blame it on the red meat revolt, which btw is alive and well to the southern bell, being a substitute for steak. I know, deal with it!You is what you is...that's much more southern that y'all.
"Ya'll" is for the edumacated people.
Are you real Lee serious?I will Grant you that you probably don't cotton to the idea, but, y'all are what y'all are.
Yea, I had to stop looking as people were coming in and measuring me up for my straight jacket. I guess it is mostly me, but, I really do not understand that mentality. I can remember being young and broke and spent a lot of time hiding that fact for fear of being labeled as cheap or irresponsible. I have never asked for a free cup of anything in the 34 years that I have been going there. I don't like warm water so if I get thirsty I simple buy a cold water (small) and I'm good for hours. I sometimes wonder just how much hydration that they think they need. It's not like they are out in the fields bailing hay in the middle of summer. I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV, but, when I drink enough water that I can feel it splash around in my stomach, I figure I'm good for a little while.@Goofyernmost ...i just finished reading the Water cup thread...whew you would think that somebody took away their civil liberties ...especially matt and the lazyboy....good grief.
Just heard Arnold Palmer died at 87.
