I found it...it's an old family recipe that's kind of a lot of work, but well worth it.


Peach Ice Cream

5 or 6 eggs beaten
2 cups sugar
¼ cup flour
dash salt
1 quart milk
1 quart milk
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
1 Quart “Squished” fresh ripe peeled Peaches


Beat 5-6 eggs, add 2 cups of sugar blended with ¼ cup flour and a dash of salt.

Scald 1 quart of milk.

Pour milk into egg mixture and stir.

Pour this custard mix back into pan and put back on stove and stir until thick.

Add 1 quart of Cold Milk and Tablespoon of Vanilla and stir.

Pour into Ice Cream Freezer and freeze until mushy.

Add 1 Quart of “squished” Peaches and mix well inside Ice Cream freezer

That sounds amazing! Love peaches (except for the fuzz)!

Tonight's foray into ice creamdom was vanilla with pieces of dark chocolate and bing cherries.

@JenniferS make sure you save me that clothes you are shrinking out of - I'm going to need it.

I know a recipe that is immensely easier. I go to Walmart and buy it. Not the same you say? Probably, but, it sure does take a lot less energy and expense.

In all seriousness though, I do on occasion buy Peach Ice Cream and let it soften a little and stir in some fresh peaches.
