I think I posted before that I was looking for a new Christmas tree this year. Well, I ended up buying two separate trees and have (or will be) returning both of them. The first was too tall, and some of the branches were bare. The other tree looked great online, and the pictures people posted made it look very full. I got it today, and it was not full at all. You could drive a semi through the gaps. So I'll be sending that back tomorrow.

I ended up just taking my current pre-lit tree and putting traditional colored lights on it. I though the other lights would show when not lit up, but they don't. So it works!

I have the tree up and fluffed, but need to get garland tomorrow. Then I'll finish decorating the tree and the rest of my apartment.

Has anybody seen the Beauty and the Beast the Musical? It's coming to Madison in May, and I have a promo code for it. My mom likes the stage show in Hollywood Studios, so I'm thinking about getting her tickets for Christmas. But she also will tell you she doesn't like musicals. But I feel like Beauty and the Beast might be different?
I saw it in Dutch....it was good, but would have been better in the original version. They don't do the stage productions in English here. I've seen 3 musketeers, My Fair Lady, Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast here. If she likes the stage show in HS, I think she'd probably like the musical.

I missed the bottom step of my stairs this morning and long story short, I'm bed-ridden for a few days with 2 sprained ankles. At least nothing is broken.
So sorry to hear that - take time to recover. It's so easy to get hurt!
A couple of years ago, while going for a gentle walk, I somehow fell and smashed my elbow and had to have a half elbow replacement 💪 and I still don't know how I managed to fall 😅 🙃

I just feel really stupid!! How did I miss that step? And now my family has to wait on me hand and foot. But the kids are both in college and have classes, and my husband has to work. He had tomorrow off anyway, because we get covid and flu shots tomorrow, but after that, I'm bed ridden with no one to help me. It's just inconvenient and I feel ridiculous. I hate having to burden everyone else, especially since it was my own dang fault.

Are there home nursing services there? In Switzerland there are nursing services that the doctor can prescribe in such instances.

And if the tables were turned, you wouldn’t think your husband or children were ridiculous so be kind to yourself 😘

There don't seem to be any services like there here for this kind of thing...or maybe only if you live alone? I have no idea. I know there are nurses that come to your home to administer meds and such....my in-laws had that before we moved them into the nursing home, but they didn't mention anything at the hospital for me. They did give me an app to tell me what to expect and such, so that's good.

And I did have to do this for E a few years ago when she sprained her ankle in PE. And no, I didn't think she was ridiculous at all. Things happen. She felt stupid because she managed to do it 5 minutes into school on the first day back after New Years. Her first class of the day, the first day back, 5 minutes into that first class. She's definitely my daughter.

In addition to administering meds, there are nursing aides here who can come and help with tasks like going to the bathroom, getting washed, dressed, etc. I broke three toes 18 months ago and I almost requested assistance but as I was able to put a stool in the shower and my daughter helped me in and out the first time (and after a couple of days I felt steady enough to get myself in and out of the shower). I was grateful we moved a few years ago into an apartment with two bathrooms because I would not have been able to get myself in and out of a tub/shower combination and apartments with only one bathroom always have a tub.
