Turns out I’m allergic to Coban, so I removed it about 18 hrs early, cleaned the incisions, lightly coated them with Vaseline, and went with fresh gauze and a bandage.

The incisions look good. The finger swelling is bad! We were sitting around the fire, but I’ve come in to ice.

The thumbs up was for the incision looking good. Not that you were allergic or there's swelling.

I stopped buying lottery tickets a few years ago. I found it more profitable to take a few dollars that I would have to spend on a ticket and just throw it in the trash. I save money on the gas it would have cost to drive to the store to buy a ticket. Of course, that was before you could buy them online. At that point I finally figured out that I could save the entire amount by not throwing the money away and just keeping it in my pocket. I know, I know you can't win if you don't participate, but I figure that, in all probability, I have made hundreds of dollars following my current way.

We had a family friend that lived to go to Foxwoods Casino and took every opportunity to go there from Vermont. She recently passed and they found the "purse?" that where she kept her, ready at anytime to head for the casino, stash and they found $3000.00 in cash in it. Now I know that for big time gamblers that is parking meter change, but for her it was a lot of money to just be sitting in a container waiting for the opportunity to mostly lose it at the slots. They tell me it is the thrill of the game, not the outcome. I would only find it thrilling if I won, otherwise it was depressing.

I didn't win. It was nice to dream about winning. When the jackpot gets high another teacher and I run a pool. But that is the only time I buy Powerball. We used to run a pool when the Megamillions got high but they changed the price of the ticket to $5 a draw and PB is still $2. I know the chances of winning is not good but I figure someone has to win, so why not give a chance every once in a while.

My grandfather and my parents enjoyed going to the casinos when the Native American tribes started building them. I went a few times with them but I was a young poor college student so my spending limit was about $25-20. Sometimes I won but not big, I considered myself lucky if I got up $5-$10. Many times I would just wander around the casino and drink the free soda offered. The restaurants at the casino were pretty good, especially the buffet. I haven't been to a casino in almost 17 years. I think the last time I went into one was for a girls night at the late night Disco Bingo.

So, Carolyn got up to let the dogs out this morning. She came back to bed and said it was kinda’ cool out. I was thinking upper 60’s, maybe…? When I got up to let them back in, it indeed felt kinda’ cool. I pulled up the current local weather and got the below… :cyclops:

I don't frequent casinos often, but the last time I did, I put in $20 and won $196. I stopped and walked away happy. My friend tried to get me to reinvest the money. I'm too logical for casinos.

Fredericksburg, TX is about 1.5 hrs. due west of us. It’s a mix of regular folk, the affluent (a LOT of wineries out that way) and everything in between…ranchers, small business owners, etc.
A very beautiful area and town with a lot of antique shops and such. It’s very trendy to visit during the holidays and do some Christmas shopping, etc.
It would be interesting to see who the lucky winner is…….

Surgery was very quick yesterday. Completely painless, of course.

The freezing lasted almost 12 hours, so I didn’t start to feel uncomfortable until bedtime. Lots of icing, including getting up at 4:00 am. Consistent dosing of Tylenol. Constant elevating.

I have to keep the compression wrap on until Sunday, when I have to change the dressing.

Glad the surgery was quick, and it sounds like it went well.
Hope it heals like it’s supposed to, and quickly, as well…!!! :)

There is still time. If no one wins the jackpot tonight I'll be shocked. It is nice to dream about hitting it big.

We ended up buying 1 quick pick ticket. The only number we actually hit on was the Powerball number 17.
Which, according to my research, gets us $4 for a $3 ticket, so actual net winnings of $1… :cyclops:
WE WON, WE WOOOOONNNNNNN…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:🤣:hilarious:

The last time I was in a casino (other than walking through the ones on Carnival cruise ships) was in Vegas in the summer of ‘87. We were on a summer road trip back to No Cal, from Texas, to visit friends. We stayed a night in Vegas and a night in Anaheim for a day at Disneyland (Star Tours opened earlier that year, and was still all the rage).
Anyway, we walked through the MGM Grand on our way to a buffet. Didn’t even put a nickel in a slot.

Silly side story…
We stayed in a cheap motel on the Strip, since we were only gonna’ be there overnight. The first time I saw the motel from the final scene of Vegas Vacation (with the 4 cars), I was 99% sure it was the same motel, and from the research I did after that, plus YouTube videos and such in more recent years, I’m positive it’s the same one…!!! :)
Our room was in the corner by the palm trees…!!!;):)
