So, when I drive Mathew to work, I take a back way to avoid the toll road.
Occasionally, we will get stuck at a railroad crossing for a few minutes, depending on timing (I’m usually ahead of the train).
There are usually around 100 cars…yesterday, I counted 154 cars (fortunately, it’s a fast-moving train)…!!!!! 🤪:hilarious:

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Surgery was very quick yesterday. Completely painless, of course.

The freezing lasted almost 12 hours, so I didn’t start to feel uncomfortable until bedtime. Lots of icing, including getting up at 4:00 am. Consistent dosing of Tylenol. Constant elevating.

I have to keep the compression wrap on until Sunday, when I have to change the dressing.

You must be relieved that the surgery is over. Now, all you have to do is heal up! I hope that happens quickly for you.

Baby quake. 😂

National Resources Canada says we generally cannot feel quakes less than 3.5 magnitude.

I distinctly remember feeling 2 quakes when we lived in No Cal, back in the day (I think there were at least a coupla’ more…?). We lived there from ‘68-‘76.

One time I was on a friend’s driveway talking and the garage door was open. All of a sudden the ground started shaking and everything hanging in the garage started rattling. It only lasted for what seemed like a few seconds, and just as it ended his Mom opened the door from the house to the garage and asked “Was that an earthquake…?!”.
Yes it was.

Another time was when we were at my mother’s cousins house for Thanksgiving, in Watsonville, CA (which, very unfortunately, ended up being severely damaged by the Loma Prieta quake in ‘89). We had just sat down to pray before the meal when it started. It was an old house up on piers, so the movement was very notable, to say the least. We all calmly got up and filed out the back door onto the driveway, at which time the actual quake ended, but the house was still moving and creaking. :cyclops:
As soon as the house settled, we all filed back in, said Grace, ate and watched football the rest of the day, like it never happened…!!!!! :hilarious:
