Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Today is the 1-year anniversary of the passing of my MIL. We went to the gravesite to make sure it was in order and bring her some pretty “flowers”.
We ended up getting there about the time I discovered she had passed here at our home, 1 year ago.
It was already getting quite warm by then.
Emmy and Audrey loved helping to make sure Mimi’s resting place looked beautiful…!!! :)
We offered up a mimosa/orange juice toast to her.
Tears were shed, but so were good memories of her…!!! :)

I am having a heck of a day - a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. I have probably (justifiably) blown up a 15 year professional relationship/friendship, and handed in notice to vacate the house of my dreams.

If I had a time machine, I would go back 22 months and just say no thank you to this messed up effed up job.

God has closed the doors behind us, kicked them shut and bolted them tight so that there is no temptation to go back. Now we move forward, wait for new doors to open. Better doors.

Oh my.
All the prayers the world can spare for y’all, going forward.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

Onwards and upwards. Here's to the future for you crazy kids. I hope it's a great one for you two. You deserve it.

Sorry to hear about this sad news, but your decision to get out of there is for the BEST. Reminds me a little of the expression, "it's always darkest before the dawn" -- and I'm confident that there will be a bright light at the end of the tunnel, for you, Mike, and Daisy. Sending hugs.

Google says a one gallon is 3.785 litres. Who comes up with this ****, I have no clue. Like why is a mile, 5,280 feet? Why couldn't we stick to the Roman way and have a even 5,000.

Anyway, small rant over but my car takes the expensive gas/petrol so I pay closer to $4/gallon which is still cheaper. An American or Canadian getting petrol in the UK will face shock after the exchange rate.

Just use the mnemonic device “5 tomatoes” to remember there are 5,280 feet in a mile…!!! ;)

The only car I ever, consistently, ran premium gas through was my ‘85 Mustang GT. I can’t even remember the last time I ran a tank of premium through any of the multitude of other rides I/we’ve owned over the years, although I did on occasion do so.
I just remember that back in ‘85, even premium was still less than $1/gallon, here in Texas.

Too funny…!!!!! :hilarious:
I remember those, but I also remember ordering the below Banana Splits 45’s in 1969, advertised on the back of Kellogg’s Sugar Frosted Flakes boxes, which I ate the heck out of at the time…!!!!! 😅
IIRC, you had to send in 3 or 4 box tops, plus $0.50 each (they were not available in stores ;)) to obtain those beauties, which I pretty much wore out…!!!!! 🤪🤣

Now I have the Banana Splits song stuck in my head. Edit: what they seem to call the Tra La La Song.

Loved that show!!

Was never a fan of Frosted Flakes, so no mail away 45s for me.

I was an Apple Jacks girl. 😎

Daniel took Emmy and Audrey to get them ready for bed, and Matt and I went up to our stateroom to chill and watch some TV…!!! :)

We ate ALL the popular cereals back in the day, including Apple Jacks, but Frosted Flakes was my go-to.
A coupla’ weeks ago, I had a bowl of Frosted Flakes for the first time in…I can’t even remember how long ago…??? 🤔:cyclops:
Good grief, it was sooooo darn sugary…!!! :depressed:
Supposedly, our tastebuds are supposed to be getting more dull as we age, so they musta’ really upped the sugar content in those things, over the years.
I couldn’t even slurp up the leftover milk outta’ the bowl, it was so sweet. I thought about givin’ it to one of our dogs, but figured they didn’t need that much processed sugar either…!!!!! 🤪:hilarious:

Oh Em Goodness, they sure have!!

I also used to love Lucky Charms when in was a kid... Several years ago, I got a hankering and bought a box. Nearly passed out from sugar overload. Lucky Charms never used to be sweet, the oat bits were like.Cheerios, and the marshmallows.weren't cloying. Not.so.anymore.

Keeping in mind the tastebuds thing, these cereals.are not marketed to.our "dull taste buds" but to children!!! 😱

Sometimes, I like cinnamon toast crunch cereal. Great flavor and sweet, but not overly sweet.

We almost never had cereal for breakfast. In our family it was an evening snack. My go to cereal was and still is Shredded Wheat. We added our own sugar but not very much. Kind of backwards, I know, but I still cannot seem to have cereal at any other time. It was always eggs and toast for breakfast in my family. Scrambled, poached or fried!.

I went through the ups and downs of eggs for years. Eggs are good for you followed by eggs are bad for you. Than from eggs are evil, to eggs are a good source of protein and other things. That happened many times over the years. Amazingly, my cholesterol numbers have stayed close to but never over the normal numbers. Why? I haven't a clue. My mother, a person that watched what she was eating for most of the last 20 years of her life had cholesterol numbers of 350 and higher. She never had any heart problems and passed from Pulmonary Fibrosis at 87. My father's cholesterol was always around 80 but passed from a Massive Heart Attack at 74. So, who knows what or why?

Actually he had the start of Pulmonary Fibrosis as well. Both of them worked in a razor blade factory where fine particles of metal dust were in the air and no OSHA back in the 40's so they both probably inhaled a whole lot of it. It was never proven, but it was always suspected.

Didn't get to eat any fun cereals that had sugar in them growing up. My brother was a SUPER hyperactive child. Of course, this was back in the early 70's before AD/HD was a thing. Mom would look at the labels and anything that had sugar listed first was a no-go growing up.

The only "fun" cereal I ever liked was Lucky Charms, but that was mostly for the marshmallows. My favorite was Cheerios (regular or honey nut), Rice Krispies were okay but a little blah. Once Honey Bunches of Oats with clusters and almonds came out that rivaled Cheerios as a favorite, I liked the clusters of oats and the nuts. The only other cereals my mom bought was cornflakes, Frosted Flakes, and Grape Nuts and I didn't like any of those. Oh I think she got Captain Crunch and Apple Jacks occasionally but I didn't like those but my sister did.
