Ferrets are so wise and youthful.
Ferrets are so wise and youthful.
Thank you for the kind words, but don't sell yourself short. Based on what you've said over the years, you've accomplished a lot in your life and should be proud of it!I know that looking back it seems pretty young, but, for me, it didn't at the time. In fact, I think I once told the story about how I never thought I would live to get to 30. Seems kind of silly now, but at the time it was real. You have a long way to go before you legitimately can claim to be old. That exact moment will be when you read in a discussion forum and someone that you remember posting while they were still in High School tells you they just turned 30.
Being a person that never thought he would make it to 30 all I can do now is wonder both how and why. I did a lot of foolish things in my youth. Hell, not just my youth but pretty deep into adulting. (If there is such a word) I think a lot about people who were much more productive in life. People that accomplish incredible things in their life span and never made it to my current age. Now in retirement, alone most of the time I have to wonder why did I? What purpose?
I am just asking myself those questions. I still am doing everything I can to become the world's oldest person. I'm thinking that 120 years old will be a point when I will no longer have that desire. But in the meantime I have to keep asking why am I still consuming oxygen while those that contributed so much to the world died so much younger than me.
Sorry, I don't mean to be all that melodramatic, but @PUSH you have already accomplished more than myself by working to help young children get to enjoy learning and because of that you are strongly contributing to their later success in life. I congratulate you on doing so much to encourage that and I know that you will accomplish a lot more than I ever dreamed of doing myself. Keep believing in yourself and understand that it takes a lot of effort to be that dedicated. I admire that!
Oh, I am proud of myself for whatever I accomplished even if it is just living through many tough years when just keeping a roof over the heads of my family was nothing short of scary. But, it took until just a few years ago to finally understand that the notation that constantly appeared on my school report cards had meaning. I don't remember any of them that didn't have the note. "He isn't working to his ability"***. I'm sure I don't think I even knew what that meant back then. I always settle for doing just enough to not fail in school and did the same thing as an adult, or at least for a lot of it. I guess some of us are intentionally slow learners.Thank you for the kind words, but don't sell yourself short. Based on what you've said over the years, you've accomplished a lot in your life and should be proud of it!
Ferrets have very short legs. Can’t really reach the pedals.Considering the size of your island.................... get a bike![]()
In the UK a gallon is equivalent to 5 litres (European)! In US £1.30 x 3.78 = A LOT!! Luckily my car is smallish and cheap on petrolGoogle says a one gallon is 3.785 litres. Who comes up with this ****, I have no clue. Like why is a mile, 5,280 feet? Why couldn't we stick to the Roman way and have a even 5,000.
Anyway, small rant over but my car takes the expensive gas/petrol so I pay closer to $4/gallon which is still cheaper. An American or Canadian getting petrol in the UK will face shock after the exchange rate.
Mine go in the compost bin in the yard, well actually they go into the deer or raccoonsI really should get my butt moving and take the garbage out, but chances are 90% they won’t take it anyway.
I’m an avid recycler, but not so good at separating my compostables. I know there are corn cobs in there, and because we MUST use clear bags, they will probably see them too, and slap a REJECT sticker on the bag.
Then I will double bag it into a black bag and take it to work tomorrow. How is the environment being helped, I ask you?
Yes, I could fish out the six cobs … but I’m not going to.
Our green bin is a rolly one that goes out to the curb. I don’t have any approved compost bin liners (they are VERY specific here, have to have a very specific stamp on them), and I refuse to buy any more for 6 weekly cobs of corn.Mine go in the compost bin in the yard, well actually they go into the deer or raccoons![]()
39%.My heart is broken for the Swiss chocolate industry.
Look up he who must not be named and it's not Voldement
39%.
As of today, 35% tariffs on Canadian goods imported. I’m pretty sure you guys import a lot more from Canada than Switzerland.
Our compost doesn't get collected. We compost so we have some to spread around plantsOur green bin is a rolly one that goes out to the curb. I'm so sorry. Something better will come along because you deserve the best xoxoI am having a heck of a day - a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. I have probably (justifiably) blown up a 15 year professional relationship/friendship, and handed in notice to vacate the house of my dreams.
If I had a time machine, I would go back 22 months and just say no thank you to this messed up effed up job.
God has closed the doors behind us, kicked them shut and bolted them tight so that there is no temptation to go back. Now we move forward, wait for new doors to open. Better doors.
