Tuesday, July 1st, and Audrey’s 4th birthday cruise cont….!!! :)

WARNING…!!!
Bad food pic below…!!!!! :cautious::cool::hilarious:
We had ordered quesadillas and nachos at the beach (can’t remember what Megan had, but Emmy and Audrey had bagels with peanut butter). For breakfast, we had only gone up to the lido deck (deck 16) for some light breakfast offerings, to take back down to our staterooms, before our excursion.
We were all starving, so I forgot to get a pic of the quesadillas, but I did get a shot of what was left of the nachos…!!!!! :hilarious:
Looks like hell in the pic, but they were actually really delicious…plenty of beef, cheese and jalapeños, and the chips were amazingly sturdy…!!!!! :hungry:

Some random beach pics…!!! :)

At one point, Carolyn, Matthew, Sarah, Daniel, Emmy and Audrey took kayaks into the mangroves. Megan and I stayed back.
A pic below of the beginning of the kayak route into the mangroves, from the chairlift on the way back to the ship (red checks next to a coupla’ kayaks)…!!! :)

A coupla’ more pics from the chairlift ride back…the bottom fell outta’ the sky right after I took the second pic, and we got soaked…!!!!! 🌧️:hilarious:

And, one last pic of lovely Audrey :inlove::happy:, before headin’ back through the Duty Free shop, and down the pier back to the ship…!!! :)

I was stuck in traffic and I took a photo of the back of this truck...View attachment 871188

"Whoooo's" would make most people think of an OWL. Additionally, how does drinking vodka become "good for dogs"? I am totally clueless as to the marketing approach by Tito's Vodka, yet I bet one of you brilliant people will be able to explain it to me 😁 Anyone ?

Artificial Intelligence is who I just turned to. This is the answer...View attachment 871198

I’m very familiar with this, as Tito’s Vodka is distilled and bottled here in the Austin area…!!! :)

Interesting day today... lots to report.

- We held interviews for an assistant principal position this afternoon. I was part of them. During the first interview, we experienced some inclement weather. It eventually turned into a tornado warning, and we had to relocate. We went into the nurse's office. Our principal had to go make sure the building was secure, so we just sat in there chatting with the candidate. We eventually continued our interview in the nurse's office. A tornado actually touched down just outside of town, less and a mile from us. Apparently the funnel cloud went right over our school.

- Our third interview lost his keys somewhere at our school. Nobody could find them. His wife had to come bring the extra set of keys. So he sat around for an extra hour plus after his interview.

- A woman went missing from a home in the town where I work last night. A man took the woman and her car. Early this morning, police found the car in Nebraska, attempted to pull it over, then got into a pursuit. The man eventually wrecked. He jumped out of the car and ran. There was heavy rain. Upon approaching the vehicle, they found her body in the backseat. They found the man over four hours later, about four miles from the crash site. Apparently it was a random act of violence, and there's no relationship between the man and woman. There was a welfare check about 7:50 last night. I was at a town event about a block away.

In less interesting news... we played water games in our water explorations class today. Remember, this class has 40 kids. The games were the way to go. I hooked up a hose, filled some buckets, explained some rules and let the kids rotate through stations. I just had to announce when to rotate about every 7 minutes. So much easier than crafts/experiments, and the kids loved it. That's definitely the way to go. My coteacher agreed.

So, last week I got another substantial check from a closed out account at my old firm.
I dropped Matthew off at his buddies earlier, and then, on my way home, while I was waitin’ in the pharmacy drive-thru for Carolyn’s prescription, I spied the music store sign across the parkin’ lot again for the umpteenth time, and decided to drop in for a bit… :cautious:
They had a whole humidity-controlled room just for acoustic/acoustic-electric guitars…I was in heaven…!!!!! :angelic:

IMG_0214.jpegIMG_0215.jpegIMG_0216.jpegIMG_0218.jpegIMG_0219.jpeg

I also found the below pictured Martin that sounded and played like a dream…!!!!!
But, even though affordable, with plenty left over, there’s no WAY I could justify that price to Carolyn, based on the small amount of time I play…!!!!! :greedy::greedy::greedy::hilarious:
And no, the ‘ol “Well, you know if I spend $4,400 on a guitar I’m gonna’ play it way more often…!!!” won’t work, because it would be disingenuous at best and insulting at worst…!!!!! 🤪🤣

Week one of summer school is in the books. I actually really enjoyed it, which is nice after last year. I did miss my lazy mornings, though.

Now I have tomorrow off. Then on Saturday I'm going up north a little ways with some friends of mine. We're going to watch their son's baseball tournament, then head up to their cabin for the night, which is relatively nearby. Then on Sunday, we're coming back down south a little bit to the Dells to go to a waterpark that we've had tickets for since Black Friday. We finally found a time to use them.

I was going to say something massively clever and the answer would be... They was drunk! Then some killjoy posted the actual reason which probably sounds more believable than what my answer was. Timing is everything.

@donaldtoo -- I think the towel animal might have been an elephant. Looks like a trunk under the facial features.

The interior design elements on the ship were very attractive. Nice to see creative styles, that complemented each other.

Below is a pic of a typical elephant towel animal we’ve had on previous cruises…

Maybe the one below was meant to be the extinct paleomastodon on the chart below that…?!?!?! 🤔😁:hilarious:;):)

And yes, as far as the interior design of this ship goes, the public areas were very fun, and the best of any Carnival ship we’ve been on so far. Although, all the ships have been fun, in their own way…!!! :)

Of note, regarding the staterooms…
This was the first of the 5 Carnival ships we’ve sailed on where the main bed was closest to the bathroom and closet area. The Disney Magic was same.
Everyone has their preference, but I prefer that layout, because it puts the bed closest to the bathroom, and opens up a more clear area between the bed and a full-width, floor-to-ceiling slider on the veranda wall…!!! :)
