Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I've seen four sitcoms from premiere to finale, and this is my ranking:

1. The Office (hands down, no brainer)
2. Friends
3. Parks and Rec
4. How I Met Your Mother

I liked all of them. I've also probably seen every episode of Full House, The Cosby Show, and Home Improvement, just not in order. They were all part of my childhood Nick at Nite lineup. I enjoyed all of those shows, too, but watched them through a kid's point of view.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
So it wasn't just getting engaged two weeks after you "met". I met my husband online and we talked on the computer for a couple of years before we even considered dating. I was already seeing someone, but when I broke that off, my now husband admitted he had a crush and said he'd like to have a chance. And here we are about 25 years later, married. I'm not sure I'd dare to do it in this day and age, but back when we got together, there were a lot fewer internet predators!!
Mike and I met when he was in grade 9 and I was in grade 10.

We didn’t start dating until three years later when we worked together at a pizza joint. 40 years later, here we be. ❤️

I’m going with:
1/2. The Office/Big Bang Theory
3. Modern Family
4/5. Everybody Loves Raymond/Seinfeld

Honourable mention to:
Schitt’s Creek
The Golden Girls
Oh, I love Big Bang Theory. And Golden Girls is great....very nostalgic for me as I grew up watching it with my mom and brother. We ALWAYS watched that show. They always watched M*A*S*H* too, and I didn't mind that one, but it wasn't one I made time for.

Funny story. For my brother's birthday, he invited a few friends for a sleepover in our yard in a tent. I think it was probably his 15th birthday or around there, and the boys liked to camp and fish and hunt, etc. We had made pizzas for dinner, which was what we generally did for birthdays as most kids like pizza and there was no pizza place in our town, so you either had to get deepfreeze pizza or make it yourself. If you make it, you can make it however you like, and also it's cheaper. We had eaten our pizza and the boys took the last pizza out to the tent with them to snack on throughout the evening. So my brother came in for something....maybe to get a flashlight? When he came in, the dog ran out between his legs and we couldn't get him to come back in. So my brother saw MASH was on. He sat down to watch and the other boys came in wondering what was taking him so long, and they sat down to watch as well. When it was over, they went back out, and there was the dog, sitting on the porch ready to come back in, and he was HUGE. This was a small dog...cocker spaniel and chihuahua mix, we think, but his little sides were pooched out and he got up in the chair and put his head on the arm of the chair and just kind of moaned. Then the boys came running back in "Mom!! Someone STOLE our pizza!!! The whole thing's just GONE!" It was large,14 inch pizza and that tiny dog ate the WHOLE thing.

I loved Home Improvement when I was younger. I watched the first episode of the Partridge Family on Youtube the other day. I want to start watching Cheers. :D

Since I haven't watched a lot of comedy, my choice is limited. Friends is good but I think it's a little overrated.

The Office (US one).
Will and Grace
Frasier - though I don't think I've watched every episode

My top more serious programs not in a particular order:

Doctor Who (Matt Smith/David Tennant years)
The Diplomat
The West Wing
The Newsroom
The White Lotus
Broadchurch
Downtown Abbey
Peaky Blinders
Covert Affairs
Sherlock (British one because I think there was an American one...not sure)

and there's probably others I haven't thought of (now I want to buy BritBox and stream British shows)

Breaking Bad (just finishing up my 3rd watch)
Better Call Saul
Orange is the New Black
House of Cards

It takes a lot for me to get into a show.

It’s okay (not great) where we are right now. Apparently much of the province is under an air quality advisory.

I have a persistent dry cough still from that stupid medication that I stopped, so if I’m coughing from the air quality, I can’t tell the difference. My eyes are super dry and itchy, but again, it’s peak allergy season for me, so who knows?
All windows are closed today and the a/c is on. It’s not that hot out, but the air quality is poorer today.

Oh, my goodness I'm seeing a lot of great shows listed!! Big Bang Theory will always be my favorite! I'm also partial to older shows like The Bob Newhart Show, Family Affair, My Three Sons. Newer shows: Ghosts (both US and British version), Call the Midwife and Grantchester (though hot vicar is going to leave I think :() Peaky Blinders, Downton Abbey and Father Brown were also must watches. My daughter introduced me to Outlander recently...oh mylanta! Watched 1 season of White Lotus..just not my cup of tea 🤷‍♀️

I'll be (hopefully) landed 24 hours from now! I'm debating whether to do a TR like I did in March... I'm not sure if I'll remember enough details from each day at the end of the 14 day trip, or if they'll all blend together. I could also do a "live" TR and post as I go, as I've done in the past. Or maybe a hybrid? Decide when I get back? What are your thoughts?

I'm always appreciative of any sort of trip report. I know they take a whole lot of work.

Today in the Elementary School I teach at it's called " 5th Grade Celebration". The PTA decorated the 5th Grade hall like this...View attachment 862611View attachment 862612View attachment 862613
That looks so cool!! I love it!! We always did hall decorating in high school for homecoming, but each class decorated their own class. My class never won the award for best hall, but it was always fun to see all the creative themes. It's really neat that the PTA does this for the kids! Do they do a celebration week for each grade level?

I'm a Downton Abbey fan, too. I watched the first few seasons of Outlander, which are good, but it IS a bit graphic for me. I prefer the book series. I know, they are HUGE books, so it takes a long time to get through, but I enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing your high school story. My school is Kindergarten thru 5th grade. ONLY the 5th graders are celebrated in this manner because they are being promoted to the Middle School.
