Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

My apologies for the meme bomb, but I’m a bit happy-giddy right now, as our latest, potentially very bad, family health situation turned out to be very much less, thank the good Lord above.

I’m gonna’ try to make this short (which is actually the kiss of death for it not being short, of course 😉)…

I got a call from Mom Wednesday morning that their garage door wouldn’t open, and they needed to get to a dental appointment. She tried to unlock and open the door of my Pops truck that’s parked outside, as alternative transportation, but couldn’t.
I, immediately, headed that way to assist, but Mom had to postpone their dental festivities…!!! 😉
I flipped the lever on the garage door so it could be raised and lowered manually.
Mom had actually gotten the truck door unlocked, but it was too heavy for her to open.
That’s when I found out Pop had been having problems for a few days. Weakness, shortness of breath, black (sorry for the gross) stools, etc.
Plus, I took his BP (with a cuff) while I was there, and it was sky high.
Freakin’ talk to me Mom and Pop, I’m just down the flippin’ road, as are your two other sons…!!!!!
I then took them to the ER at the heart hospital Pop had his quadruple bypass surgery at ten years ago…that’s where he wanted to go, sooo…
Pop felt like crap.
This is a man that I caught on the roof of their house, a few years ago (again, now 92 years old) with a leaf blower, as I was passing by while running an errand. I turned the car around. I parked and yelled at him ‘til he could finally hear me…
Me: Does Mom know you’re on the roof…?!
Pop: Why does Mom need to know I’m on the roof…?
Me: So she isn’t surprised when she finds your lifeless corpse on the yard below…!!!!!
:hilarious:😉
Anyway, after days of drawn out testing, it ended up being a benign lesion in his colon that was bleeding…fixed…no cancer…!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Our Mother, as per usual, was a total mess ‘til we got the good news. She’s always been quite the fatalist, though. Pop, on the other hand, has always bucked up and rode things out, which has transferred to me, throughout my life.
Pop ate like a crazy man after his colonoscopy (final procedure) yesterday, which I witnessed, so that was very good…!!! :)
Anyway, Pop will be getting sprung tomorrow morning, after they make sure things are staying sealed up.
Yes indeed, short that was…!!!!! :hilarious:😉:)

Also, a kinda’ funny thing that happened to me last night…
I went on a beer 😉 and gas run. I was standing in line behind three other customers to check out. The whole time, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed this young lady standing off to the side. Just standing there, and seeming to be looking towards me…something that doesn’t happen to me much anymore, these days, LOL…!!! 😉
I checked out, and as I started to walk out, she approached me. I, of course, assumed she probably wanted money, or something. No, she simply asked if I had jumper cables. I did, indeed, and helped her get her car started.
The kicker is, out of the blue, she told me she waited for me because I looked trustworthy…I damn near cried.
I told her it was my pleasure to help, and to have a good night. She smiled, gave me a quick hug, and was off…among more important things, like family, etc., in life, I live for little moments like this…!!!!!

Thank you for helping her out.

I’m no shrinking violet by any means, but very few men will ever understand what it is to be a woman who needs a bit of help and the trepidation we sometimes feel trying to pick the face we feel is least likely to want to do us harm.

He's not my king. I didn't vote for him.
Hey, let's not bad mouth him. He and I share something. He was born two months after I was. The awful unfair part is that I got nowhere and now he is King. It just seems wrong, very wrong. I worked all my life and he just waited 70+ years and got his own castle(s). I'm sure the title KING looks very good on his resume'.
