I forgot to mention that my mother whose name was Hazel hated that show and would walk out of the room when it came on. She never said why, but the suspicion was that she never really liked her name but had to use it because her middle name was even worse, as far as she was concerned. She's no longer around so it is probably safe to reveal. It was Idabelle! When required to use her full name she would just use Ida. I think she hated getting upset when anyone connected her name with the Hazel character, which was often.
I didn't really like the show, either. Hazel's voice was too screechy.

I mostly saw it in morning reruns in the summer (along with The Mothers-In-Law, which I did enjoy, and The Lucy Show, and Father Knows Best, and a few others, including, I think, Bewitched) because according to IMDB, it debuted two years prior to my birth and went off the air when I was 3.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Full disclosure - I do NOT love Lucy, can’t stand her actually.

And when John Lennon was killed and some of my schoolmates were crying, I legit had no idea who he was. If you read up on him, he was rather an immoral person. The whole May Pang thing was just total ick.

Unpopular opinion, but John was my least favourite Beatle. I'd happily listen to the solo work.of any of the other three.

That said, it was of course, terrible what happened to him
I think the real shock was what happened and John was only one part of something that everyone that followed them was saddened that any hope that they might get back together was gone. In spite of my obsessive fandom of the Beatles, I always knew that Paul was the one that pushed the needle. Ringo was great and it was sad about George but as a group member he was the whiniest of them all. He constantly complained that he didn't get enough individual attention and was always mad at Paul and John because they were the team that made the Beatles, the Beatles.

Without those two no one would have ever heard of George Harrison if it hadn't been for Paul and John but instead of feeling blessed that he was able to become a millionaire like the other three was because of the song writing team of Lennon and McCartney and their music publishers were not going to encourage them to hang their future on an, at the time, unknown and inexperienced song writer. It was their publishers that were investing the money to create the records that would sell and they wanted the proven pair, not an experimental one. After they broke up then it became a smaller risk to let George have his own place in music because of his connection to the band.

Jays were very much in the running, but Soto wanted his close buddy Vladi locked up longterm before he would sign with us.

I’m just as glad we missed out. 15 years/$765 million/$51 mill per season is insane! He’ll be 41 when the contract ends. His defence is average at best. He’ll spend a lot of those seasons as a DH.

Even Bestie, a die-hard Mets fan isn’t sure how excited she is. It’s A LOT OF MONEY. Too much perhaps. Time will tell.

I’d tell you who I hope the Jays go after, but I don’t want to jinx it. One is a an always smiling former Jay, and one is right fielder, currently with a division rival. We’d still have money left over to bolster the bullpen, and get another stick. Management sucks though, so we’ll probably be runners up again and again.
I hope you get who you want!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm really not super-duper stoked by Soto. I think my only positive is that it is nice that Uncle Steve has super deep pockets and wants a winning team that bad. The Wilpon's were terrible! I think that is an insane amount of money and it is definitely plays a part of why it cost so much to go to a friggin' game. I'm sure we'll be celebrating both a Bobby Bonilla Day and Juan Soto day.
