See I am just the opposite....lol I like more soothing colors. I like white...to me thats soothing. maybe an off white. I like grey's....earth tones etc.
I like beach-y colours.
Sadly, these folks have seen pics of just about every room in my house ... including my basement storage room. :hilarious:
Apparently I suffer from over-share-itis.

I work in peoples homes everyday. You would be surprised how much people basically copy one another....colors etc. Maybe its me and they just all tend to look alike over time, but everyone has the same fridge/stove etc.

Around here, the neighborhoods are generally built by the same builder. So most every home on a block will have the exact same appliances as they were all purchased at the same time in bulk.

I grew up in one. The next door neighbor on one side had the same floor plan as me. On the other side the house was a mirror image floor plan.

The type of brick and trim work on the outside at least gave the homes some distinction between each other.

Me too. I sell them. Since 1989. For the same builder.

Truthfully, great pains are taken by builders up here to avoid the "cookie cutter" look.
Each project has "architectural control" which dictates the spacing between identical houses, the total number of the same house type you can sell, approval of exterior colour schemes, and the repetition of brick/stucco colours.

It's actually a very delicate dance to satisfy all of architectural control's mandates.
