Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I liked her blingy red eyeshadow.

Heh, heh . . . depending upon the camera angle, the red almost made her eyes look (from a distance) like they had conjunctivitis! ;) But considering it was Gaga, and she had already toned down her outfit, I would expect that she'd throw in a surprise of red blingy eyeshadow!! :p Her red shiny suit was very attractive. And her shoes--did you see her American flag designed platform shoes??!!

So, I ended up buying a different tv stand than the one I was considering. It comes tomorrow, along with the chairs.

The coffee table I currently use (Fontana Collection by Broyhill) is going downstairs with the matching armoire; so now I need a new coffee table. I have been to a half a dozen furniture stores and spent hours online, but nothing is exactly right.

And then I had the brilliant idea of using one I already have. @Eric1955 will love it because it is straight out of the 70's. I'm not sure how old it is, but there is never a time that I don't remember this coffee table bring in my mom's living room. I remember she refinished it in the mid-70's after all of my younger brothers were done teething.

I have spent the last few hours cleaning away 40+ years of grime and nicotine. It's been TSP'd and lightly sanded. Next up, primer and multiple coats of paint (not stain).

Once it's painted, I have to decide between a clear glass or lightly grey smoked glass top.

A work in progress - I forgot to take pics before I started.

Isn't it great when you can repurpose a piece of furniture? One time, I had a tiny corner in a room that needed a small side/accent table. Looked around a lot in stores, but nothing was small enough. Then I recalled an old end table that my father made for my brothers. Found it in my parents' attic and brought it home. Spray painted it and voila! And all I had to pay for was a can of spray paint!

Many years later, I still use that little side table. And, it's even more special to me now as the years go by, because my father had made it, and my brothers used it in their room when they were kids. You wouldn't think that a small wooden side table would create an emotional attachment like that. But it does . . . can't explain it. So, I think it's nice that you're using your mom's table. :)
