Plus, it's always nice to see what I missed the first time when my eyes were closed, and my hand was in front of my face.

That's old stuff, from the freezing rain/ice pellet event of 10-12 days ago.
It was never pretty, white fluffy stuff. It was always the hard, bluish, solid surface that was unshovelable. Should be gone in the next few days when things warm up a bit.
