I saw this and it brought tears to my eyes. It's an anecdote about Yogi Berra from Michael Kay, Yankees announcer:

When Phil Rizzuto became ill toward the end of his life, he was put in an assisted living facility, which was about 30 minutes away from where Yogi lived. And every single day, because teammates were important to him, he would drive there, and he would play cards with Phil. And then when Phil would start to fall asleep, Yogi would hold his hand and when Phil would finally go to sleep, that’s when Yogi would leave. Every day. That’s what teammates meant to him.

The Schwekfelders are the descendants of a small Protestant sect that sprang up in Germany around the time of the Reformation. They were followers of Caspar Schwenkfeld, a theologian. He and his followers separated themselves from Protestant circles and formed the brotherhoods that still survive as the Schwenkfelder Church. Most Schwenkfelders now live in Pennsylvania Dutch country.

HISTORY

In 1733, a handful of Schwenkfelder’s followers arrived inPhiladelphia. A second group arrived from Germany on September 22,1734. They swore their allegiance to the British king, then they spent September 24 expressing their thankfulness to God for having delivered them from persecution.

It just now dawned on me today how big of a nerd I really am.

A lady with a local dinner theater stopped by work today, and was bringing us new calendars for their Fall / Winter season. We were talking about how nice it is that Fall is finally here, etc. She made a comment: "Can you believe that December will be here before we know it."

My first response to immediately go through my head?
"Yes! The holidays are coming!" Nope.
"Yes! My birthday is coming!" Nope.
"Yes! A New Year is coming!" Nope.

Without hesitation, my first immediate thought was:
"Yes! The new STAR WARS is coming!!!"

It's official folks. I am a much bigger dork than I've been willing to admit all my life.
