It took me a weekend to read the last Potter...I've never been able to finish the last Potter.
Tried. Tried. Tried. Got a couple of hundred pages in each time. Finally I cried Uncle, and just gave up.

I read the first six books back to back. I then had to wait for the final installment to come out, and by then I was out of the Potter bubble.I think that's the trick. I've seen all the movies, but when I tried to start reading the books, I found myself wondering when a particular scene was coming up and not just going with the flow of the story.
Once I started it I read HP through pretty quickly, and as soon as I was finished read them all again.
But I never got around to reading them until after my daughter was old enough to read them. And I never saw any of the movies until after I had read all the books.
I'm pretty sure that their boat does not sink. Which would explain everything.I read the first six books back to back. I then had to wait for the final installment to come out, and by then I was out of the Potter bubble.
