Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Our 2 daughters sold Girl Scout cookies for a combined decade.
I can’t even remember how many times Carolyn and I sat out in the cold at booths (Walmart, Shoe Carnival, Blockbuster, etc.) for both girls troops…???!!!!! 🤔:cold::hilarious:
But, the sales always paid for camp, and then some, and they learned a lot.
As a result, if there’s a booth where I happen to be goin’ I buy some…!!!!! :hungry:;)
One year Sarah sold over 1,200 boxes and Megan sold a little shy of 1,550.
Good times…!!! :)

Not me sitting in my living room watching the Spaceship Earth Beacon of Light shows and feeling all the feels. I have such an irrational love for Epcot, and this music hits hard. I could sit there for hours and just listen to the music and enjoy the ambiance. Can't wait to be back!

Absolutely…!!!!! :inlove: This show totally gave me the chills the first time I ever saw it on a live stream,
and I still think it’s easily one of the best things Disney has ever produced…!!!!!
As soon as I could find video of it, I sent it to oldest DD and she felt the same.
I had to hold back tears the first time we saw it in person.
The music and visuals are beyond amazing.

And yes, since I first visited EPCOT Center on our honeymoon in Dec. of ‘88, I’ve been a huge fan…for mostly what used to be.
But that’s for a different post.

My first trip to Disney was in 2002, when I was in 2nd grade. I love all four parks, but I'm by far the most nostalgic for Epcot. The music is what does it. No other park can match Epcot's music. I'm even nostalgic for the music that's before my time. I love Epcot Forever, simply because of the music. Illuminations is my favorite nighttime show, simply because of the soundtrack. I loved the Innoventions area loop, but what they replaced it with is amazing, too. It's much more inspiring and grand.

I miss parts of the old Epcot from my childhood, but I still love the current version. Ambiance is also huge for me (which is also partly because of the music), and the Future World (or whatever it's called now) is beautiful in its current form. Yes, I wish there was still a fountain, but the design is still top notch. My only MAJOR complaint is the Encanto show they do. It ruins the entire vibe of the place. I don't need to have a dance party there. It's so awful.

OK, so Carolyn got a phone call on her way home from work this evening. It was from the accounting firm she had a temp position at, previous to the temp position she currently holds. She didn’t call them, they called her, out of the blue.
Person that came back after maternity leave just isn’t cutting it anymore, and they missed Carolyn anyway. Definitely more money than they were paying her before, and the current position is just boring her to death.
Anyway, she wanted to celebrate with a dinner at…wait for it…….Casa Garcia’s…!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious::inlove::happy:

Chips and salsa and my 24oz. Dos Equis Ambar…!!!!! :hungry:

Also, as per one of my previous posts, guess who was out front of Casa Garcia’s…?!?!?! 🤔
Yes, Girl Scouts selling cookies…!!!!!!! :joyfull:
When Megan and Sarah first started selling them, they were $2.50 a box…they’re now $6.00…!!!!!:hilarious:
We weren’t deterred.
Sarah bought 3 boxes (now some are in bags), and we bought a mixed case, 3 of which we had already dropped off to Emmy and Audrey…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

I'm so far behind with catching up on all the new happenings around WDW, I had no idea this was even a thing. The Encanto ride replacing Chester and Hesters I knew about for awhile (and welcome that one with open arms). But not more dance parties please and thank you.

@MinnieM123 , I was watchin’ “FantomWorks” on Motor Trend earlier. They turned a woman’s long-neglected ‘53 Chevy 5-window pickup into a bit of a hot rod. They dropped a Chevy 602 (350 c.i.) crate motor into it, and spiffed it up bunches…!!! :)

IMG_4209.jpegIMG_4203.jpegIMG_4208.jpeg

They also had a dude bring in a ‘39 LaSalle that was decent aesthetically, but had major mechanical issues. Again, and as per usual ;), they took care of those issues and spiffed it right up…!!! :)

IMG_4184.jpeg

On a side note…
Every time I hear about a LaSalle I harken back to one of the song verses from the “Those Were the Days” All in the Family TV show theme song…
“Gee our old LaSalle ran great”…!!!!! :hilarious:

According to the internet, they also still take checks, although I can’t even remember the last time I wrote one.
For many years now, we’ve been buying them with a card.
Last year we bought 3 mixed cases from a troop at a booth, and we thought they were gonna’ pee their pants…!!!!! :hilarious:

Back in the day (well, when our kiddos were younger), cash and checks were a pain to deal with. I wish we had the credit option then.
Also, Carolyn was always the “Cookie Coordinator” for the Service Unit. We had sooo darn many cases of cookies in our garage during that time, it was nutso…!!!!! 🤪:hilarious:;)
Sometimes customers would ask us why we sold cookies at the coldest time of the year. All we had to say was “Can you imagine what would happen to a garage full of Girl Scout cookies in triple digit Texas heat…?!”….!!!!! 🫠:hilarious:

OK, goin’ back down memory lane…
I swear, I’m not dyin’ or anything, at least as far as I know…?! 🤔;)
I think it’s just the Holidays and missing Shirley (Mother-in-law - yes, we had a good relationship) during them, and it’s still hangin’ with me a bit.
Anyway, thanks for indulging me, and a pic of Megan and Emmy leavin’ vegan chocolate with chocolate chips cookies and almond milk for Santa on her first Christmas Eve in 2018…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

Here's some useless trivia, as your 2nd photo of the 53 Chevy pickup caught my attention. :joyfull:

Looking at the 2nd photo (with the FTM WKS vanity license plate on the rear), I was curious to know when VA started issuing plates to vehicles. It was 1906 -- way longer ago, than I had ever thought. (But then, I looked up MA, and the first issue was 1903!)

Anyway, I noticed on the 53 Chevy pickup, that those older vehicles didn't have much space to put a plate on -- I like how they squeezed it way over to the left; it just barely fit on there! :p
