@donaldtoo --

Just one more below, and then I'll pause until Steve McQueen's car (about 15 lots away -- as of 4:34 PM (EASTERN).

Auction goes on until 7 (EASTERN) today. (I'm also recording it, as I don't want to miss that bidding frenzy, when it hits the auction floor! )

UNTIL THEN -- SOLD, 15 minutes ago:

1966 Ford GT40 MK1 Road Car (pine green) (lot S214)

SOLD!! $6.4 million dollars!! :jawdrop:

@donaldtoo ,

The Premier event (about 10 minutes ago)! (Side note: Nice to see Steve McQueen's grandson there.)

Steve McQueen's 1969 Porsche 917K Race Car -- Engine sounds like a jet rocket!! :p

BID GOES ON
: $25 MILLION DOLLARS!

FYI:

For those who don't understand the bidding process: the high bid AT THE MOMENT is $25 million, but Mecum Auctions is holding out for even higher $$$$. Could happen before the show is over today, or may sell in days to come. The wait is killing me, and many others! :hilarious: Bye for now, everyone!

I take it the prices are high in the emerald isle.
Indeed. I think you're paying in £ and I'd be paying €, but as of November, petrol was €1.74 per litre.

Pence per litre. I'll let y'all do the maths.

What's so special about Doyle Motors' fuel?

Flippin' Oirish. 😆
We have so much higher NJ State tax added then in the past. NJ USED to be cheaper before that tax was increased
NJ used to be so cheap it was worth paying the bridge toll to fill up! I knew that it had gotten more expensive after the gas tax was raised a few years ago, but last time I was in Jersey, it was still a few cents cheaper than NY. Not enough to justify the toll.
