Wow, it’s unusual for gas to be cheaper in NY than in NJ. I paid $2.64 the other day with my 5 cent savings through the Gulf app, which means the regular price was $2.69

We're at $3.09. It was $2.99 a week ago, and it had been at that for probably a month or so.

We have so much higher NJ State tax added then in the past. NJ USED to be cheaper before that tax was increased

Indeed. I think you're paying in £ and I'd be paying €, but as of November, petrol was €1.74 per litre.

NJ used to be so cheap it was worth paying the bridge toll to fill up! I knew that it had gotten more expensive after the gas tax was raised a few years ago, but last time I was in Jersey, it was still a few cents cheaper than NY. Not enough to justify the toll.
