Winter returns this weekend, then spring next week. But I'm not thinking about that right now. I'm just enjoying the rest of this week.

E is off to Italy with school for a week on Saturday, where it's supposed to be around 70 degrees (20C). We're in the 50s for now. I'm so jealous she gets to go to Italy!! It's at the top of my bucket list.

Italy is an amazing place. The Tuscany area is wine ladened and Rome, Pisa and Florence are filled with art and history. Just shield your eyes from David. Shocking, just shocking at least to the culturally deprived!

I had fantastic weather in my part of WI the last few days too but 4-8 inches of snow are predicted for tonight-tomorrow.

They went to Florence today. She sent me this picture and said it's just a copy. They didn't have time to see the real one. But her caption was "The horror!! The HORROR!"It's to bad, she looks so depressed.
Last night, she said her "twin" (host sister) said they should go out walking in Pistoia (that's the city where they are staying) and she didn't realize what the twin meant, so they go out and she said there were at least 50 teens, all smoking, drinking, etc and it was totally not her scene, so she had to ask her twin if they could please leave. To her credit, the twin obliged and took her to a "slightly less creepy dark alley" place.
Her host family is worried about her because she's still having coughing fits and has no voice, so I guess they contacted her teachers and asked if they should take her to the doctor and they keep asking her if she needs meds. She did self tests during theater week when she started to feel sick and it's not covid, and we checked the rules in Italy and she was allowed to travel there, so she's ok, but it is sweet that they are concerned about her. This is par for the course for her, and we're used to dealing with it. Whenever she's had a bunch of stress, she gets sick. Every vacation, once she gets to relax a bit, and boom, her immune system crashes. And with theater week last week, she was at school until at least 9 every night, she's still making up the tests that she missed LAST time she was sick, which was during test week. So this was kind of bound to happen, but I'm glad that her host family is taking care of her. And she's wearing face masks every day so she doesn't make anyone else sick.

You better line her up for some psychological help when she returns. I'm sure she is traumatized. That is the one I saw too. The line to the original was way to long and this one is supposed to be the exact copy, including quality of sculpture.
