Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

@JenniferS

So where exactly do you get on the Maid of the Mist.

According to their website their office is on the American Side but the only dock I see is on the Canadian side.

You can get on from either side.
I've been on it maybe three or four times, all from the Canadian side.

They alternate releasing boats, one from each side, maybe every 10 minutes or so. American boats fly American flags, and the Canadian ones fly the Maple Leaf.

Something in the back if my mind tells me that they changed the name of the boats on the Canadian side though, and they might no longer be called the Maid of the Mist.

Best episode ever of The Office ... the wedding episode where Jim and Pam get married on the Maid of the Mist.

While it appear to be an old pic, I would assume that Hornblower is using that same launch site for their three catamarans.

Good thing most Canadians hold passports, as we will still be able to cross the border and ride the Maid of the Mist from your side.
It's neat, reasonably priced (considering) and certainly worth riding at least once.

Until you have out of towners visit. Then you find yourself using that Yogi B. quote @Lucky has as his signature in response to everything they want to see.
I always find it amusing when tourists ask us where to find some "locally-oriented, off the beaten path" eateries, etc. Umm...the local joints want to stay LOCAL. They do not want to become touristy. That is why they are hidden & you probably have never heard of them. That is also why I lie to you when I say "I have no idea" and then proceed to direct you to the tourist places you may enjoy.

And yes...all of us locals who live & work in a tourist town do the exact same thing. It's an unspoken rule of the industry.

Not completely related, but this came to my mind. When we don't have something at work, I'll direct people to competitors. We all do it. And I always question why people come to our store before they check the bigger, more popular stores. One time a woman asked if we had cooking aprons, to which I said no, then I said maybe Walmart had them, but she said she would not go there. So I said I had no idea after that, other than to travel to a different city. Then she said she wasn't going to do that either. It's like she wanted me to magically find some aprons which we don't sell. She paused for a good 15 seconds just staring at me before she walked away. I always hate when customers think I control what the store has, or that I have a say in the prices. Not even our managers can control that.

With the population density here it is almost impossible to hide places anymore. Thanks internet...
