Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

i felt like it was pretty obvious why they ended with that. It was essentially nod to the changes coming to epcot. A whole new world. A Segway to what is next for the park.

I loved the amount of fireworks used and thought the kites were cool. Solid.
Agreed that's totally the reason it was used. But I hate it. I like the increase of fireworks and colorful fireworks from Illuminations. But the story and feel of Illuminations was so amazing compared to anything else. I know Epcot Forever is a placeholder, but it didn't stand up to Illuminations. Solid is a good word for the new show. Nothing special, but still nice to have a nod to the history that made Epcot great.

But I think in person I would get chills from the Walt parts.

You know what's funny?

i didn’t expect it to be illuminations level. Not a temp show. Frankly, it will be hard to any show to reach that level. lol.

I didn't expect it to be, either. I feel like the purpose of this show is to transition the diehard Epcot fans to a new era. It's not for the casual guest. Most guests wouldn't recognize most of the music. They might not even recognize Walt's voice. Instead it's to pay tribute to what Epcot was built on, but mainly to finally say goodbye to that era that has been slowly drifting away for quite a while. I do appreciate they did this instead of just blast us with IP fireworks.

But my mom is the total casual fan. We watched the Illuminations finale last night and then EF tonight. She said tonight was hands down better than last night, and she was shocked I thought Illuminations was better. She also had no interest in Illuminations on our June trip, but she wanted to see HEA. My brother wanted to see HEA twice. My cousins did, too. My aunt, too. None of them stayed to watch Illuminations even once because there was no castle or projections or songs they knew. So I do understand Disney moving to more IPs. I just think those people are wrong. :hilarious:

The next episode in my The Office rewatch: Threat Level Midnight. Quite possibly my favorite episode of the entire series.

Even with Google’s help, it doesn’t ring a bell.

My favourite episode is “Niagara”, followed by “Casino Night”. My least favourite - “Dinner Party”.

“Dinner Party” just made me feel so sad. Poor Michael. Mike and saw it a few weeks ago, and then the next night, I heard him re-watching it downstairs on his own. Apparently it didn’t make him feel so sad.

I loved the music in Epcot Forever. Of course I love Epcot music and listen to it a lot so I am biased.
Just finished watching wdwmagic’s recording of EF. I liked it just fine. It was light and fluffy, and not reliant on the globe, which I can never see anyway.

I’m sure it’s better in person, when you can feel the explosions thumping in your chest.

I agree that it needs a single over-arching narrator ... preferably an adult male. Jim Cummings perhaps?

The kites got to be a little boring, but so did the globe. I just want to see firecrackers go boom. Needed more Soarin’, but that’s true of everything.

Today was the third hottest day of the summer!*

*(Ignoring the fact of course, that it is no longer summer at all.)
It was hot on Monday here. Near 90. Nearly 100% humidity. Yesterday was low 70s, but high humidity again, so it was not fun in a building without A/C.

Today we are in the 50s, samebfor the rest of the week. Lots of rain around here since school started after a very dry summer.

Just watched the new fireworks show on YouTube. Loved hearing some of Figment's (theme) right at the beginning, and also the various recording clips of Walt's voice in spots throughout the show.

Fireworks were great (as good as one could see on a computer screen). What I really liked were some new visual effects with what looked like flying fish, or in another part of the show, flying kites. Fun!!

I am at the before the first one of the first season. I've seen pieces of it, on and off, and have yet to find anything about it that strikes me as interesting. I'm glad the rest of you enjoy it though.

When we played the “deserted island ... you can only bring one full series of any tv show” game, I chose The Office.

It took my a long time and several tries to get into it. I tried watching the pilot numerous times before I finally got through it. I tried the first season and it really took a while for me to get into it and understand what was happening. Once you know the characters, it makes it so much better. It's not a plot-driven show, it's all about the characters. There really aren't a lot of massive plots through the whole series.
