Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Try taping it up with Kinesiology tape. Seriously. You should be able to find at the drug store. I’ve used it before and it might hold you together good enough to still get your trip in.

And stock up on Motrin and Motrin PM!
Try the tape. I wasn’t a believer until my DW taped me up. That stuff really works...
I can only seem to find it online, so it won’t be here before we leave tonight.

And because I’m not a total whiner (all evidence to the contrary), I haven’t shared that I have developed an allergy to most bandaid adhesives. Tape might be a problem.

I’ve got a Velcro brace, tensor wrap, and Tylenol 3. That and a couple of prayers will have to do. Might help if I stop beating myself up over it. Ship happens.
That tape is THE BEST. I’ve bought it for so many of my friends and the response I always get is, “I can’t believe a piece of tape helped”. They sell it at CVS too. I use it on my shoulder. And I too have adhesive sensitivities but have never had an issue with KT brand tape.

That is so sweet. I love that you passed on the recipe like that.

It was her request. She planned her whole memorial. She told us who she wanted to officiate, and if he couldn't do it, who was next in line, and if HE couldn't do it, who her 3rd choice was. Which hymns she wanted, and NO SOLOS. There's no way I would have gotten through a solo and she didn't want to make anyone else try, either. And she asked that we put the 2 recipes (Poppyseed bread and seasoning salt) in the program so she could keep her promise.

You might try the tape if you can find it...the hotel might be able to help you get it delivered there if you order it online? What happens with your allergy? I usually do fine with athletic tape for a few days before it starts to itch and break the skin....you can always take it off if it starts to irritate your skin.

I think it’s at SportChek. Mike is heading there now. If not, I can get it in the States.

Very nice! Love the Santa on top - looks very Scottish!

Thank you. I'm not quite sure what nationality he's supposed to represent. What I can tell you is that I bought him at Lord & Taylor, Boston, over 15 years ago, marked down after Christmas. He was expensive (retail price), but the markdown dropped it to about $40 (still not cheap), but I HAD to have him!

What you can't see is that his outfit is all velvet with trimmings and ribbons, with an insert of plaid taffeta, and he also has a velvet pack on his back with twigs, etc. :)

Looking for some feedback from anyone who has experienced what I'm about to describe:
Every winter some of my fingers crack where the side of the nail meets the skin. I have to wash my hands throughout the day to be healthy but the constant water exposure in the winter causes what I already described. Putting Neutrogena actually seems to make it worse. Anyone else experience this? Any solution(s)?

Do you use hand sanitizer? I can't use that or Dawn dishwashing soap without getting severe cracking and peeling on my hands.

Wow! You already hit upon two things. #1 During "flu season" I use hand sanitizer maybe three or four times each school day. It's in my instructional room which does not have a sink....so soap and water would mean leaving my room to go elsewhere.
#2 I do 50% of the dish washing in my home. We use Dawn Gentle Clean....on the label it states:
"Tough on Grease/Gentle on hands"

I think some of those are alcohol based, which can help to dry out your skin, if you use them a lot. Where I work, the clinicians are always washing their hands, and they all use regular hand cream (various brands--and they don't have to be expensive either).

Try a different brand of hand sanitizer at least. Look for a low alcohol level if possible.

Do you think if I walked to the custodian's sink and used the soap from the soap dispenser instead that would help? Or liquid soap would have the same result and only bar soap would help?

I used to use Palmolive, but even that bothered my hands. I found a creamier Palmolive that seems to help, but I prefer to not do them period! :joyfull:
