Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Teachers’ Unions are the strongest unions in the country up here. It is virtually impossible to get fired once you’re in. They also happen to have the most lucrative pension funds.

I know US teachers are grossly underpaid. Here, not so much. It’s really a shame I realized I don’t like kids, and dropped out of University. 😂
You know...I wish I had realized I didn't like other people's children so much BEFORE I got my degree. I could have studied something else and had a different job. Though what I would have studied, I have no idea. The things I'm interested in are hardly things you can build a career on outside of a classroom.

So tomorrow we may end up with 0 inches of snow, or we may end up with 8 inches of snow. Apparently the storm has a very sudden stopping point, and we are somewhere on the edge. Depending on the exact path of the storm, I could be very happy or very upset.

As of noon or so, my weather app said we'd have snow from tomorrow morning to 7pm tomorrow night. Then looking back in the evening it said we were not supposed to get any snow tomorrow. I am crossing my fingers that it is the latter.

If I know my Cananadians everyone in the country would be polite enough to not criticize that jacket, but, they would also admire it and tell him what great choices he makes, eh. Everyone except you!!!!! :grumpy:
whatcha got against beards?
On other men that I don’t have to smooch, a well trimmed beard may be fine. On Mike, forget it! It’s like making out with my dad.

Every man in my house right now is sporting a beard - two because they’re too lazy to shave, one because he’s auditioning for Duck Dynasty.

That sounds great. When should I expect my interview? :P

The things I am interested in are things like history, genealogy, music, reading/English grammar. I'm not good enough to make a living at music, history and grammar you can't really do much with except teaching, and genealogy and reading are more hobbies. I HAVE thought about being a beta reader for aspiring authors. I have a couple of author friends, and I read for one of them, and she said most people get paid for that, which she can't afford, but I do it for free because I'm her friend and I love her books anyway. But I would have to freelance and it's also not something I could make a living on....I don't think. Plus, I don't think I'd like telling people their books aren't good if they are paying me. You don't really get to choose what you read with that, so if it was something I hated, that wouldn't be fun.

How much does the "sitting around all day wearing yoga pants" factory pay? If it's more than I make in the warehouse walking back and forth all day, I'm in.

Well, I hope it's the latter, if that's what you want. We were supposed to get some snow on Tuesday, but never did.

Read that Lord & Taylor on 5th Avenue in NYC is closing its flagship store in January. That's too bad--they had some beautiful holiday windows, down through the years. Guess that leaves Bloomingdales and Saks for nicely decorated windows on 5th (unless I missed one). I'll bet that @JenniferS might know.
I’ll have to go through my pics from last Christmas, as I only remember the Saks windows.

All evidence to the contrary, I hate shopping, and I find NYC to be expensive, so I don’t actually buy much there.

Might be different with the boys joining us this year, but the only “gotta have it” item is a Swarovski tree ornament from Rockefeller Centre.

Oh, I could never afford to shop in those stores either, but their holiday display windows were a "must see" for most people.
