You and I have got to be related. I'm thinking long-lost sister, or aunt maybe (?) Either way, we are kin somewhere down the line.

After this horrendous summer of wildfires out west, hurricanes, droughts, heatwave deaths, you name it... I think Fall is in for a big welcoming. Even here we've lost a chunk of business the first half of October, due to the fact most families don't envision their Fall vacation getaway including: swim weather, no change in leaves, mosquitoes, and sweating your eyeballs out while strolling around looking at scarecrow props in town.

Now that weather is finally cooling down and leaves beginning to turn, business is picking back up. This makes me happy. "Mountain weather" or "Football weather", as I hear it, is beginning to show it's long-lost face... and I want to kiss it.

Yet despite the weather cool-down reeling back in tourism $$$ that we missed during the first part of the month, I still occasionally hear someone talk about how they wish summer weather would stick around longer. When I hear that, I'm like...

We noticed on our journey back home last Sunday that the foliage was still pretty green. Even around here, it looks more like mid-September rather than mid-October.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Everything is green here too except this ONE road I drive on my way to work - there’s a stretch of about 6 large trees that are beautifully orange and red.
It’s peak leaf peeping season here. Once we dip below zero (32F) for a few nights next week, the leaves will start dropping like ... leaves.

I do prefer the cool weather to the hot summer stuff, but I really hate snow (I know that probably surprises a lot of you)

When I was a toddler, my mother took me outside for my first snow experience. She said I looked positively gleeful, and didn't want to come back indoors again. Apparently, I put up quite the fuss! :p In conclusion, I've loved the winter as far back as I can recall.
