We have a family staying this week from Lakeland, Fla. The father told me our weather is "refreshing" from what they're used to.

We have a high pressure system hovering above us, so the air is still... and hot... and humid.

I work downtown and we are about two blocks from the river...that's always nice for the humidity. Walk outside and break out in a sweat!

He's obviously been in the sun way too long...

We used to refer to Floridians who come up this way to escape the summer temps "Heat Refugees". But he told me they like the term: "Skillet 'Scapers".

It's the complete opposite of a Snowbird going south for the winter months.

Thanks, it's for a bank teller position. It's just a part-time job for me to make money while I work on getting my teaching licensure.
