Oh well, too late now! (I got my holiday food on the 4th, and as long as I'm fed, I'm o.k. with that!!)

Yeah, I don't expect it to change any time...it's too much a part of our tradition the way it is. Just one of those fun little trivia things. John Adams was convinced that July 2nd would be the day that was celebrated...just kind of funny how things like that turn out. I love little bits of trivia like that. (Yes, I'm aware of the fact that I am a HUGE nerd)

I wish I had a time machine and could fast forward 10-20 hours at a time for the next few days.

Hallelujah, four boys have been rescued!
Eight more, and their coach still to go.

I am praying for the safety of all the divers and rescue support team as well.

I can’t even imagine how those families feel.

I am praying for the safety of all the divers and rescue support team as well.

I can’t even imagine how those families feel.

Four more boys rescued today, Jennifer. Four more to go. Those kids are amazing.

And just when you think the world has spun completely off its axis, you hear about the good that still exists. Those brave rescuers from a number of countries, have taken on a very dangerous mission to get these boys out safely. Just praying for the last 4 boys, and for the safety of all who are involved in this incredible rescue mission.

My heart is bursting with joy, gratitude, pride, and relief. Thank you, Lord.

Word spread quickly at work today about the good news!!! Everyone I know was so wrapped up in this, and so elated to hear that all the boys, and their coach were rescued.

There was such wonderful teamwork by all the rescuers--they guys pumping the water out of the caves, the divers, and so, so many others involved in this mind-boggling effort. What a compelling story, and what a happy ending.

Mike’s 50th birthday is next month. For my 50th last year (yes, I am 1 year/3 days older), we went to NYC.

Neither of our work schedules will permit that this year, given that we leave for WDW 9/4.

I want to get him a nice watch. Not a crazy-nice, multi thousand dollar watch, but something a little substantial. Plus I’ll get him a new cheaper Guess watch.

How do we feel about this one?




Sadly, it’s going to be a little hard to have the back engraved, but I’m sure I can squeeze “Love you, Baby” somewhere.
