whats your national day thenSurprisingly, I ate spumoni as a kid, but wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole as an adult.
ETA - I'm off the hook though. National Spumoni Day isn't until 11/13 in Canada.

That's OK. It's hard to see anything in Canada anyway, with all that snow hitting your face every time you look up.Maybe, but I'm not going to risk it.
Mind you, I live in sunglasses, so my light-sensitive eyes would probably shrivel up if I looked at a full moon; never mind the sun.
It was your promise to repeal the forums and replace them with "something terrific" that sold me.Yep! And if it doesn't happen in the next 5 years, I for sure promise it will happen in the 5 years after that!
It's rude to stare anyway.Apparently it's no more dangerous to look at the sun during an eclipse than on a regular day. Just don't stare at it.
Also, my 5 year anniversary falls on the day of the solar eclipse. Coincidence? I think not. It must mean that I'm like Supreme Ruler of the Internet or something.

Well our skies cleared for the eclipse here is northern Wisconsin, we weren't in the path of totality but it was still eerie to watch it darken outside. I made a viewing box and I had glasses. I thought with my box I wouldn't use the glasses (I'm totally scared of the eye damage thing). But I ended up putting them on and sneaking 5 quick looks. I also tried putting the glasses on my phone and taking some pictures but that didn't really work out well. It was interesting, but I got more excited about it when I watched some of the coverage on CNN when I went back inside.
My husband's uncle was on a special astronomy tour that took him into the path of totality, and it looks like they had good weather for viewing so it should be interesting to hear his stories.
How the heck are we so accurate with this.
