Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I forgot to take a picture of him on the 4th, but Lobby Bear (the one I introduced you all to back when he was Cinco De Mayo bear) is now Patriotic Uncle Sam Bear. Dressed in a star-spangled hat, and holding a flag in his shirt pocket, he jovially wishes you all a happy July 4th holiday week.
Maybe for some conferences you could dress up Lobby Bear as Lobbyist Bear.

Okay Peeps, Mike and I are getting down to the nitty gritty of planning our mid-August NYC trip.
We're looking at a morning arrival on the 14th and an evening departure on the 18th.

We've only been here once before about six years ago. Because we were travelling with a group of eight and our itinerary included a Mets game and a Rangers game, we didn't have a lot of free time.

Probably going to stay at the same hotel, although it has changed ownership since then. Used to be a Radisson, now it's a Marriot. Located on Lexington, between 47th and 48th. The location worked for us last time, walking distance to many attractions, mere blocks from Grand Central Station, or whatever they're calling it now.

We've done the Statue of Liberty tour, so this time we're good with just riding the Staten Island Ferry. We loved the hop on/hop off bus tour thing, but think we went with the wrong colour. Once I remember which company we took last time, I'll make a mental note to switch to the other.

Museums folks - I love them, Mike is meh, so I will only bore him with one. Which one?

We didn't get to visit any of the Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, or Rockefeller Centre. Which one? All of them?

The 9/11 Memorial was not complete during our last trip, so that's right at the top of our must-do list.

Zero interest in a Broadway show. We are not those kind of people. Ball game - meh. (Mets are at the Yankees. I'm a Blue Jays girl.) No Billy Joel concert that week either. :(

When y'all are recovered from your Fourth of July celebrations, throw your recommendations at me.

Oh yeah, I'll be turning 50 during this trip, so it's a special occasion, not just a regular vacay.
