Our Canada Day dinner is ready.
Three racks of ribs there - the bottom layer has a spicy sauce, so it's separated from the "sweeter" sauces.
Steak. Burgers and baked potatoes.
The ubiquitous kale/cabbage slaw.
Looks like someone got into the cake already.

That's the same system that hit parts of Maine today. They had a small tornado up on Sebago Lake--very unusual.

Looks delicious, Jennifer. I like your cake--cake doesn't have to be fancy--I love frosting, by the way. I wanted to just take a fork and dig into that cake you made.
So, I'm curious about your foil around the baked potatoes. It's gold.
We only have silver. Is it a Cananada thing, that you guys have gold foil?

My niece is leaving for Africa tomorrow, and my brother is throwing a surprise good-bye brunch for her.
"Can you make your famous French toast casserole?", he asks. Sure.
"Can you make two?" Sure.
A full dozen eggs, a bag of milk, 1/2 pound of butter, 3 cups of milk, and the better part of two loaves of bread. There is not enough room in my kitchen. I might have said a bad word.
Mike says, "I told you, I'll buy you a new kitchen". Ummmm no, then people will expect French toast casseroles and fresh baked (from a boxed mix, of course) cakes every day. Pass.

I've never seen gold foil either. By this time of year, potatoes are generally icky. "New" potatoes, which have paper thin skins will be hitting grocery store shelves later this month, but most of the stuff currently in stores is last year's crop.Looks delicious, Jennifer. We don't eat a lot of potatoes (I'm still not eating them at all) until the new potatoes arrive. So for now, I just buy pre-wrapped baking potatoes, four at a time - which just so happen to come wrapped in a very thin gold foil.

Agreed, there is so much potential for this attraction. Updating UOE would be easy, in the sense that there are so many new developments in the energy realm, since UOE debued years ago. I'm not sure exactly what would be featured (although I do love those dinosaurs--they stay!!)
But, it is an impressive building, and since it's already there--I pray they don't do something really stupid like gut it completely.
