You know what's funny?
So the three meals that came this week were shipped via fedex and came in a big box. It was only actually in transit for one day. When you open the box, you see the recipes for the 3 meals on top. These sheets also list all the ingredients included that you will need for the meals. Below the recipes, all the food is wrapped up in a insulated foil looking bag. In the bag was all the fresh produce on top, followed by other spices, ingredients, etc. Below all that, between two large ice packs was the meat. All ingredients looked great and fresh. And everything was labelled and properly proportioned based on what you will need for each meal. Most of the stuff you can just put right in the fridge to store. So no concerns there.

The first recipe I followed last night, the smoky pork burgers with roasted veggies & pequillo pepper sauce, was clear and easy to follow, but somewhat challenging at the same time. As I mentioned, it was helpful that everything was proportioned so you could move quickly through it. The food itself came out very tasty and serving sizes were perfect for us. Even the kid liked it which was a plus.

We will see how the next meal goes tonight. I found it fun to make something I have never made before and I hope this continues.

80 lbs! Is everyone you know blind?!
It reminds me of part of the stand up of the late John Pinette who said that he lost over 100 pounds and when he mentioned it to people they said... you know it really shows in your face. He looked out at the audience and said, "how the hell big was my head anyway?"

To answer your question, it happened over 6 years, so that was about 14 lbs a year total. Those that saw me everyday didn't really notice it. Those that hadn't seen me for a while were afraid to mention it just in case I hadn't.

This is a portion of his stand up, not that line, but, others.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

My son is is/was a huge John Pinette fan. Funny guy. Also famous for being the reason the four main Seinfeld characters ended up in jail, and the series had to end.

If it makes you feel any better, 80 lbs in a year would have been very noticeable; even to those who saw you regularly.
