My favorite is this wooden one that has a pretty much straight down drop.

This wooden coaster is in the Dells. According to Wikipedia it's a 65 degree drop, but it has a 90 degree, banked turn. Plus, it has a corkscrew in it, and it goes underground.

I apologize to NYwdwfan.

Nice. Is that the one called Hades, or something like that? I remember seeing one on Travel Channel which went under the parking area.

Edit: Nevermind. I was thinking of a theme park called Mt. Olympus.

Mt. Olympus is the theme park, Hades is the rollercoaster in the theme park. The Dells is short for the Wisconsin Dells, which is a tourist town in central WI.

Interestingly enough, I'm obsessed with watching roller coaster shows and looking at roller coaster photos and on ride videos. But ever since the time I bit into my lower lip on the first drop on The Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg I realized I really don't enjoy coasters. That and the time I rode Rolling Thunder at 6 Flags Great Adventure in NJ with my 6'3" boyfriend in high school and the lap bar only came down to HIS knees so there was a good 8 inches between my legs and the bar and when we went over the top of the hills I truly thought I was going to fly out and die. I was clutching the lap bar as I caught air. Not cool.

So you won't go on roller coasters with me because I'm 6'3?

Rolling Thunder is gone. Now on El Toro you need your own individual restraint that they push tight until you lose circulation in your legs.

Could have been worse. Consider yourself fortunate that you didn't have a monster at the head of your coaster, like these two terrified kids! .:jawdrop: :p

No...that they push tight until YOU lose circulation in YOUR legs. I'll be on that bench eating a sno cone.

Hey are you old enough to have ridden the Sarajevo Bobsled (was torn down to build Scream Machine - is that even still there?)
